Know the subject been up a million times, but can´t find anything with RPM heads and angled sparkpluggs.
Car is a -66 Coronet conv. Aut on column and p/s.
383 with Eddys RPM Performer heads.

What headers will do the work best, mostly considering fitting in the car? don´t want to ding them at all.
Been looking for either Doug´s D451 coated or TTi 383-178C4.

Eddys says you should have 2" tube, is there any 2" that work for 383 RPM heads, think i only seen for 440s.
But for a mild config. 383 I guess 1 3/4" or 1 7/8" should to it, right?

I don't know your specific answer. I do think that 2" primary tubes are WAY too big for a street car, so go with smaller headers. Also, I have a set of angle-plug heads (for a new engine I'm building), so I've thought about this too.

The problem area seems to be at cylinders #5 & #6 (at least vs. my current Heddman headers). The primary tube from cylinders #1 & #2 travels up/over the center cylinder tubes & bends down to the collector. Where they bend down, it sort of puts cylinders #5 & #6 in between two tubes (tight fit).

Both great headers
I went with TTIs due to their commitment to perfection, Mopar only connection

But is there any one who uses the RPM heads and can confirm that Doug´s really clears sparkplugs?

I have the Schumacher Tri-Y headers. Clear the starter and fit well w the RPM heads. 1 7/8” primary for street torque. They are actually manufactured by TTI and it shows...

I always wanted to try a set of these, but they state that they won't work with factory 4-speed linkage. Thought it was kind of odd they couldn't figure out how to make them fit without going to a hydraulic clutch.

I have mocked up my RPMs and my Doug's 2" headers and did not see any problem with plug/tube interference... now that was on the 60929s. Looks like I will need to use a couple of studs though
( dont remember which cylinders).

1 7/8"? Really. Are you sure they are not 1 5/8"?

Mild 383 in a 66 Coronet conv. driver. The 1 5/8" Schumacher headers would be the very best for your application, IMO. And don't even consider anything with a primary tube >1 3/4".
