My wife has had it with the smell!

A PCV valve that is not working well will make the car smell like oil and more fumes too.

I have the same issue with my six pack. I think I’ve tried everything to no avail. Mine doesn’t get inside the house though. The garage smells for hours. I don’t know what the problem is outside of it being a 50 year old car and us being used to vehicles with emissions stuff on them. I can live with it and probably need to actually put more miles on it to keep it cleaned out and make sure the gas is reasonably fresh.

I actually live for the “old time” smell. Still stop by work sometimes so I can be immersed in diesel once in awhile.

Yeah - but my wife is a new age person. Me I’m a bit old school too!

Get an old 300D Mercedes...the diesel aroma will mask the gas smells!

Because of the age of the hoses, you should inspect ALL rubber hose be it fuel or vacume or vent. Most of the hose will be the same size so buying in spools is the best way,

Acrually, the carburetors should be referenced to manifold vacuum below the blower, so there are at least 1-2 hoses...lol

Hoses to carbs on a roots blown would be for boost referencing power valves if used.I do not have power valves. My carbs are more like toilette bowls!
I was not talking about my heap!! The OP was asking and I was suggesting:thumbsup:

Just to update, the motor has been completely rebuilt from the crankshaft up, all three carbs have been replaced or rebuilt. The car runs fantastic....easy starts, even when hot, plenty of power. But the smell is still there, maybe not as bad, but still there. I just leave the garage door open for about 20 - 30 minutes after driving with a fan on.
