Not sure what you are trying to do but a good trick is if it floats in water it can be plastic welded.
If it does float and you are unsure of the material you can use ether an old busted grill for filler or cut a sliver from an un noticeable spot off the back

I think the guy that restored my grilles used Devcon Plastic Steel Epoxy, but I think its like JB Weld, the results were amazing, and I used parts from another grille to make the repairs and here we are 6 years later, and no issues.

That looks great!
These are not EZ grilles to resto, but the end results are worth it.
Hope you used the COLD WELD.
The JB quick weld should never be used, it has crap PSI rating.
