AMS oil

No, I was talking about the article at the link to amsoils website.
That isn't a review. Its a PR piece.
As I said, it is probably a fine product but a company written article isn't a review.
Hey, lots of people swear by Quaker Maid oil, too.
Not a personal attack but your response is typical of those from many amsoil distributors. They all seem to take it personally as if they made the oil.
Nothing personal, just an observation over the years.
Myself I have seen race engines after a season of constant 8k rpm running on a track that will pull the bottom end through the pan if its not top notch stuff because the track hooks up so well. No real wear using Rotella, Red Line, Royal Purple or Valvoline.
Last point, your comments on actually using the oil weren't posted. All we had was Amsoil's webpage.
And, that's hardly a scientific review, its an observation. You observed good results and that meshes with what I said. It's likely a fine product.

Ah Ok. Yea I mean I am sure its not the only good oil/product out there, but it is a great product. I stand by it after years of never failing me and extended drain intervals. I did not post a webpage and I wouldn't have posted in this forum post if I hadn't actually used the oil and had experience. I usually save my posts on things like this based off my use and experience, not via an internet ad.

I have been told that Amsoil and Mobile 1 are the only true synthetic oils. Have no idea if it is true. They said everything else was made from Dinosaur bones. I was thinking someone must have found a lot of dead Dinosaurs.
That is NOT true.
And its Mobil....no e. I dunno why so many do that. Its like Concours. Many people put an e on the end. Different pronunciation and definition.

The only 2 true synthetics are Amsoil and Mobil 1. They both begin life in Laboratories. ALL the rest start with products from underground be it natural gas or crude. Amsoil in everything I own. 0-30 in the modern Hemis, 10-40 in the Big Block. High Zinc.

Thats not a review. That is amsoil generated PR piece.
No knocking the product but the "review" is written by amsoil.
And that has been a big thing about amsoil over the years. "Independent lab testing" has always been done by or paid for by Amsoil and when you try to get more info on the lab you hit a brick wall.
I'm sure their product is fine, its just they arent exactly open about tests, etc.
YOU MAKE A VERY GOOD POINT! But just so you know, my lab was not Amsoil sponsored. The oil is legit

That is not true, there are other synthetics. Synthetic oils are "built-up" molecules that begin life as small natural gas molecules. Conventional oils are "cracked" by taking gigantic molecules (crude oil), breaking them up into pieces ("cracking") and then refining the pieces to get the ones you want (mostly). There is always something "not as good as it could be" left over in your mix for conventional oil. Synthetics are typically "less contaminated". I hope that made some kind of sense.

The others CLAIM to be synthetics. The container they are in is the synthetic part.

I’ve read the same Dennis, Mobil 1 and AMS are the only ones to start on a lab, others start off as you said.

And its Mobil....no e.
Well excuse me!!!

Does this make up for my mistake?

I was an Amsoil dealer for many years, started using it in the late 70 s when they sold two stroke oil you premixed @100 to 1. Still have a bottle of it. Over the years I’ve had many motorcycle mechanics ask (after breaking apart one of my motors) what kind of oil did I run because the bearings and engine internals were in fantastic condition.

I think its one of the best, I don’t need a lot of lab results to prove anything to me. I go with the 30 plus years of actual results. I currently still run it in my cars, truck and all my dirt bikes.

I didn’t know they have a high zinc oil, guess I’ll try it in my bird.

I didn’t create this thread to try and say AMS is the best out there, if you like it and use it you do, if you don’t I’m not going to try and change your mind I simply posted this to maybe save people money on what their currently paying and try to get a little business for myself. Anyone who would like a price quote please PM me I’d Appreciate the opportunity to get your business

Do they make a Cummins approved diesel oil for my new KW?

Didn't mean to start a huge debate, though that seems to happen a lot on here. Some people seem awful quick to get angry! I was just wondering if Amsoil had something that was safe for flat tappet motors to avoid cam damage.

Bo,.. I may be getting in touch with you to get some. I have 3 cases of Valvoline VR1 on my shelf so I don't need anything for a while, but may try it when I get to needing some.

Thanks

can we just purchase thru you? or do you get credit either way?

If you use my referral and sign up for a preferred membership I get credit still. It’s a good deal it’s $10 for 6 months or $20 for the year. But either way I can put the orders in for you also if you want to do that.
