Hi I haven’t seen any chrome wheel well trim for a 1970 Roadrunner GTX or Satellite. Does anyone know if anyone is producing an aftermarket part?

they are available from classic about $350 a set last time I looked

Holly molly thats a lot of dough. I wonder if I could use a generic flexible chrome even plastic? I would rather buy gears than 4 pcs of chrome. Has anyone else found a more reasonable approach?

any piece of trim is probably $100 a piece avg, leave them off then

Check and see if the '70 Roadrunner/Satellite uses the same wheel well openings as a Charger. If they do, I believe I have a used set that would get you by that I would sell very reasonably.

I will try to take a look at them tonight to confirm they are useable. I bought them from a guy, then decided to buy new when my Charger started making progress through body and paint. Don't know if they are the same as what a Roadrunner/Satellite would use though.

Mark,
All of the wheel lip trim is specific to the car line. Even the 69 GTX is different than the 68 to 70 Plymouth B-Body as the Sport Satellite, etc. Most of the stainless trim can be saved if not severely bent up. The aluminum trim will oxidize and corrode to the point of being unusable. Some of the reproduction wheel lip trim can be very frustrating to install.

I guess this is why they are so expensive being different for each car and each year. Hey n the other hand maybe they are just marked up too high. Often the truth is in the middle.

I bought new aftermarket for my 68. Had to remortgage my house to pay for them. What a rip. CNt remember the company I bought them from. Somewhere in the NE. I’ll look thru my papers and see if I can find a contact. They are pretty good quality. Not easy to install. @moparnation74 might have a contact even though his X is a 69.

Just as an indicator to the value of the pieces, good originals will sell for or more than the reproductions. A 68 GTX uses the same ones as a regular Plymouth B-Body. A 69 GTX uses a one year only piece for that one model and I have never seen a complete set of NOS.

I believe that most of the reproductions sell in the $300 to $350 range. Considering all of the different applications and the complexity of the pieces, I am surprised that they do not sell for more.

Thanks Richard. I won't bother then. Just figured I'd get them to someone that could use them for basically the price of shipping. If I remember correctly, they were in pretty good shape, but had a couple cracks in the mounting flange and a couple extra holes from previous people remounting them. I will just hang on to them until I hear of someone that can use them.
