Our next project is going to be a 65 Dodge Coronet 440 A/FX car. Hemi power with old school Hilborn fuel injection converted to electronic FI. Still work on final engine size but will be run on E-85 and be totally streetable with a stock looking A-990 single exhaust and RPM activated exhaust dumps. Target weight is 2800. Started with just a "tub". Just could not bring myself to cutting up a good car for this project. Got all the fiberglass A/FX body panels from Sled city. Here is what we are starting with. Much more to follow.

We are trying to make this car with in reason as close to how Amble wagon built the 12 original cars.

Media blasting the body shell and getting voted by my neighbors best neighbor anyone could have.

This is pretty cool. You can call Hilborn and they will supply you with the documentation of the original buyer of the FI unit. Also here is a picture of the new fuel rails and injector mock up imagejpeg_0 (2).jpg

Got the body mounted/leveled and welded to the chassis table. Laid out the new 2x3 front frame rails and got them tacked in place

Here are some pictures mounting the car on the frame table. This is a great tool to make sure the car is built square

Now decided to replace the firewall. The one in the car is a little to far gone and we found a real nice one to replace it. Also decided to replace the rockers with new ones. also going to replace the tail light panel So basically the only thing that will be left of the original body is the roof and the door jambs and about 1/3rd of the quarter panels

Probably turn out okay.....
Do I remember a while back you were looking for a car on here to do this project?
Apparently you have the funds and the man power to do such a project...............
HOWEVER! IMHO YOU went about it totally wrong.
There are rust free (not free rust) cars out there that would have served better.
I personally trashed a 64 2 door hard top in better condition than the one you have.
I know anything can be restored but you just went too far.
