I asked on the MML about interchanging a 73-74 Road Runner hood onto a 72 Sebring Plus and the responses mostly said there were changes that made it impossible, altjhough some others said it would work. Anyone used a 73-74 RR hood on a 71-2 Sebring or Road Runner? I am sure I have seen one in the past, but not sure where or when....

71-72 same, 73 -74 same.

1-2 will not interchange with 3-4.

Try it and report back!

It is a direct bolt on. The body lines in the hood won't match up with the front header but they could be fabricated to make it look factory...

"Body lines won't match up".

So, you are saying not a direct fit!

I can make a 64 Fury hood fit an Omni, if I work it over a bit! lol.....

Read what I wrote it is a "direct bolt on".. With minimal work you can make the body lines match the front header. I bet I have 1% of the time and .001% of the money you'll have in putting a 64 fury hood on an omni if you'll accept that challenge. LMAO

What did you have to do to make it match up with the 72 body lines? Simple or hard fabrication, and where are the body line conflicts (side front, etc? I am considering using the 74 hood I have from a parted car on my 72...

it will fit and close but the two rather small lines at the front of the 73/4 hood won't have matching lines on the 71/2 hearer panel.

I've personally seen a few and I think they look good, as the photo above shows.

You can adjust the bumpers so the outer edges of the hood are flush with the header.

that's the less noticeable way.

I bet a lot of folks won't know it's not supposed to be that way.

In fact, I've got that hood on a 72 Charger right now.
Does not latch but bolts on and opens/closes.

Not my car but I have seen a few done like this. You can slice the front header, taper it down and reweld creating a small body line to blend it in quite easily making it line up with the outside body lines.... You only need to blend those lines in so a 2 inch modification will lower it and make it look like a factory piece..

Yeah, why is that? I saw it in another thread are you going to leave it on and restore or get a proper hood?

I just wanted to see what it would look like.

I have a Charger bulge hood but it needs the frame replaced.

I just bought a spare 73 grill to paint like an RR blackout.
It came with a header, so I may see what's involved with modifying that to fit the Charger.
Not even sure what I'm going to do with that car.

The lines in question on the 73/74 RR hood are only about 10 inches long and create a raised area about 3/16" high.
