I saw one on Craiglist for $1500. But I think it may be this one? Is the main caps different on a max block vs a regular block?

And all this time I thought the max wedge blocks were notched/machined for intake valve clearance, not for exhaust valves!

I had a pair of Max wedge cylinder heads for 30 years that I planned on installing on a 440 (but I eventually gave the heads and manifold away). I wonder in the 440 would have required the notches?

If you want to sell that block then you'll need to post a picture of the ID pad as well as some pictures of the top of the engine so people can see the cylinders. Provide some more information about the block such as bore size and condition. And get rid of the straps on the main caps. People don't want to see some backyard mods on an expensive block. A max wedge block will sell best if it is in stock condition. Of course, first of all you need to prove that it is indeed a max wedge block. I don't see anything in your three pictures that shows me that it is a max wedge block. Could be anything from those pictures.

Let's see the ID pad stamping.

Let's see the ID pad stamping.

He stated there are none, but has part numbers for the straps. I'm curious to see what those are, and if theres a mfg marking of any kind.... I have the list of Max W. special parts, but I don't remember any mention of support straps. I dont think a casting date has been shown either, which may help.
