Late February-Early March are a unique tine in my slice of heaven. Old man winter still has us in his icy grip but spring is waiting impatiently to bring us some precipitation. Three things can happen, early thaw, an ice storm or a blizzard. Fortunately it wasnt the middle scenario. Blizzards just mean hunker down and dont usually invlve massive power outages.

6-8 inches of snow isnt much. But when you already have a foot on the ground and add 40 mph winds....

Officially snowed in. Only mode of transportation is a 4wd backhoe to dig through the drifts to check livestock, then back home to wait until the blizzarrd subsides, then dig everything out.

The grove and barn shelter my acreage from the north and west winds. Go beyound the safety of the acreage and its whiteness to infinity, the snowy ocean meets the sky and theres no discerning. All sense of depth is lost and so are you. Visibility is measured in feet if at all.

I wanted to dig my Coronet out of storage for a few weeks of work. Looks like that wo t happen for a few days.

Yeah, I remember one night crossing the bridge from Illinois into Iowa and it went from not bad to snowblind within a mile.

I literally could not see the end of my hood on my big truck. I worked to the edge and moved slowly with my tire in the rumble strip and made my way to Walcott, lol.

It's been a brutal 6 weeks.
It started raining at 3pm yesterday 32° I just crossed my fingers and hoped it would stay that temp until the snow started. Blizzards are Blizzards but Ice Storms are second only to tornados

Tomorrow's going to be fun. We already had more snow piled up than we knew what to do with.

Beekool. we use to have livestock and when the weather is like this you need to be careful and not get lost. Wind blowing 30 or 35 mph here and gusts stronger. I am not even going to the shop today. I will need to get the road open when wind goes down.

I take my summer vacations up in your area.
Very nice place.... In the summer

Yesterday was 40 and rain here every thing melted with nowhere to go except my garage. Midnight I had 2" of water. I'm now shoveling out slush and water every couple of hours. Its snowing and blowing about 30mph. Gotta get the water out before it get -4 tonight. Oh yeah furnace broke too, was able to fix it was just a dirty flame sensor. Having fun here in Wisco

Partly cloudy by me right now. 55mph wind gusts with 40mph sustained. Supposed to
die down around 6pm. Come on Spring!

no thanks, you can keep that cold
we have enough of that devils dandruff (snow) & cold **** here

late Jan. & Feb. are typically our worst winter months
downed trees & power outages, PITA
we have areas that have 300+ inches, 25+ feet of snow
I saw 331"s on some peaks, ski-resorts, some 20-30-50 miles from here

come on 'the sun & spring'
sick of this ****

this was the 1st day Feb 5th & it only got worse

And the beginning of March doesn’t look any better this week

And then I remember last year when WI had over 4 feet , yess 4 feet of record snow in April

Winters are starting later and ending later

I don’t even remember a spring last year

Hey Guys, I want to work on my Mopar in the driveway this spring and you're really
getting me down! It's not like we live in Seattle!

It's been crazy here, we've had some bitter cold weeks followed by rain that melted everything and caused flooding and now in the last few days it's been really nice. Today the wind is nasty, it's starting to blow in the cold again err...

I keep telling myself it's almost March:thumbsup:. That's when the weather begins to shift and the beauty of the forest returns.

we have had the cold temps but
next to nothing with snow as all the storms have gone either north or south of central Jersey.
we might of gotten 6 inches of snow all winter with a bunch of rain
so I can't complain.
it makes up for the years that we got hammered..

Well now, 23 year's here in the country, and I have never seen it like this. Wind picked up yesterday afternoon, snow really did not start until late in the day. Snow plows were taken off the road at 8:00 last night. Every window on all four sides of the house totally covered. Looked out the court yard window at 3:00 am, could hardly see the yard lights do to the snow in the air. Calling for 90 km winds for most part of the day.......I will post some pics in a bit.

Made about the 80 ft mark, need to plug in the tractor at some point. Yeah, were screwed!!
I need to get into the shop to plug the cord in, that is the door I need to get thru.
