Late February-Early March are a unique tine in my slice of heaven. Old man winter still has us in his icy grip but spring is waiting impatiently to bring us some precipitation. Three things can happen, early thaw, an ice storm or a blizzard. Fortunately it wasnt the middle scenario. Blizzards just mean hunker down and dont usually invlve massive power outages.
6-8 inches of snow isnt much. But when you already have a foot on the ground and add 40 mph winds....
Officially snowed in. Only mode of transportation is a 4wd backhoe to dig through the drifts to check livestock, then back home to wait until the blizzarrd subsides, then dig everything out.
The grove and barn shelter my acreage from the north and west winds. Go beyound the safety of the acreage and its whiteness to infinity, the snowy ocean meets the sky and theres no discerning. All sense of depth is lost and so are you. Visibility is measured in feet if at all.
I wanted to dig my Coronet out of storage for a few weeks of work. Looks like that wo t happen for a few days.
