As my car gets close to being ready I want to remove the previous owners name from the side windows which are lexan. The windows are nice & clear & I don’t want to damage them. Would prefer a household product or something I can get at a local store.

Not familiar with lexan but I'd test on a invisible place before putting any chemical on it.

BIT of hairdryer warmth and see if you can get a corner up and then use the lighter fluid as a cleaner / release agent with a SOFT rag.

yep...lighter fluid is good on decals....doesn't cause much harm to inks either.

Ask Bladecutter for advice. He's an expert on that sort of work, specializing in aircraft windows.

It's what I do day after day, build airplanes for the past 26 years. Well it's what I'm supposed to be doing anyhow.... LOL. All I use on Acrylic and Lexan, Ronson Lighter fluid or BBQ starter fluid.

Do NOT use ANY solvent on lexan. Use a hair dryer to heat up the vinyl and it should peel off. Anything hotter will melt the lexan.

I've never tried lighter fluid but if dadsbee has been building planes for 26 yrs I'd say trust him. Also what will remove the glue with NO harm is rubbing alcohol or carnuba car wax. Put the wax on heavy and rub. We've removed dried on decals off motorcycle windshields for years this way.

Tim is gone. I ended up buffing it off with headlite Polish. And a small soft buffing pad. Took about 20 minutes per side. Came out very nice. Took my time checking often to make sure no damage.
