Hey everyone I am working on restoring my 1966 Plymouth Satellite 2dr hardtop with a numbers matching 361 big block. i am trying to figure out how many came with this motor as i have not seen any others in my travels. I have heard of Govie or whatever its called but that is expensive just to know how many were made. I would appreciate any help I could get thanks.

Hard to pin down Mopar. 35,000 or so Satellites, and the 361 2bbl option was 88.00, the four barrel was 188.00. If other models are an example, under10% for the four barrel option, 25% for the 2bbl option. 318 engines were the most popular
for the model.

Ya Ford has a Marty report that owners can get and it gives you the numbers that was produced with the options that is on that car. I don't think there is any Mopar company's offer that.

There were 3,385 '66 Satellite hardtop 361 auto cars built, from a total of 35,399 '66 Satellite hardtops. NO 361 4-bbl cars built in '66.

Thank you Patrick66 thats great news. thats not a lot of those. Can that narrow even more by colors Pale Yellow with Citron interior?

Nope. There are means to determine options by a percentage of total vehicles built, though, but I'd have to research that. You can find how many were built with a given option - again, by a percentage of total built.

Ok patrick66, how 'bout 383 4-bbl cars built (hardtops) in '66? If it can be even further broken down to 4 speeds even better!!

Anyone know where to find this info?

Typically, can find out approximately how many were built for sale in the US by Options and accessories reports or shipping reports, if the reports exist. This figure usually does not account for cars sent to Canada or overseas.

As the reports work on a percentage, and not exact numbers, you can only find out approximately how many came with a select option. You cannot cross reference options I.e. four speeds and power windows and determine a number.

Anyone that quotes an exact number is guessing. Exact numbers don’t exist.
Anyone trying to determine a number without the report is guessing.

Having said all that, I don’t know if the 66 Belvedere line info is available on line or through GG.

Sooo. Where does a person get one of these reports? I'm not interested in paying G.G. for this info, as it's not important enough.

I had a chrysler report for my 66 'Sat, 383, 4 speed from the old owner. I believe 3,9xx 4 speed, 383, Sat. were built in '66.

Jeff_383, no exact numbers? 3,9xx ish? My dad is restoring his '66 383 4 speed that has a lot of options, but just knowing 383 4 speeds would be nice to know.
