Before I tear my car completely in the garage, do you guys think i have enough clearance to install long tubes in my '67 small block car with manual steering on ramps?
I have 12" of clearance under the k-member up on my ramps.

I remember doing this as a kid in a gravel driveway with the front end on jackstands. That sucked.

I guess if I have to jack it up off the ramps and put it on jackstands its an easy fix. I'm excited to have headers again. Just doesn't seem right to have a b-body without that sound.

Flat concrete with jack stands under rear axle so it will not roll forward or backward.
They are only a problem as you sort of tip them up to go in. Might pay to have a go and pick the front up more with wood blocks on the ramps if you need to.
Once they go up and in you are set from there.

I replaced my headers last summer. I didn't use ramps, but I had 4x8 blocks under the front wheels. The passenger side was a piece of cake. The driver's side was pretty easy, but I needed about 6" more clearance to slide the header out (383 4 speed). Luckily my garage floor is brick, so I just pulled a few bricks up.

These are 1 7/8 TTIs and had to remove torsion bars on both sides, had to go up from the bottom, glad I have a lift.these are on my 66 Belvedere 383.

all I had to do was pull the motor mount bolt and jack each side of the engine up as I did each side. And the starter when I did the driver;s side. Didn't have to touch the torsion bars or clutch linkage. Mine are Flowtechs, manual steering.

Would like to Know where you purchased your hood and if there is a website or contact number you could provide?
Looks to be correct A12 version.
Thanks Dave

Update: Had no issues at all getting the headers in from underneath. Didn't even need to jack the engine up, they slipped right in.

Summit headers review: they have very thick flanges, looked great and fit beautifully. The gaskets they came with looked really thin and cheap but i used them anyway with copper sealant on both sides. We'll see how they hold up. Need 45degree plug boots for back 2 cylinders on the driver's side.

I will give this advice though if you get summit headers, buy good gaskets and header bolts. The ones it comes with are crap. Thin fiber gaskets, and the bolts only have about 3/8" of thread engagement even with the thin gaskets. The flanges are really thick!

same with the Flowtechs...nice flanges, but one of the collector gaskets blew out right away.

Yeah i went ahead and used the supplied header gaskets, 3" collectors plugged into a dual 2" exhaust system apparently has some backpressure... go figure. Blew one out immediately.

If you buy summit headers, do yourself a favor and spend the extra $11 on hedman 09006, 1" long header bolts. I tried to use stainless socket head cap screws and they could not handle the torque and started stripping (the heads).
