My 383 post Road Runner is missing it's original drive train. I am thinking about creating it into a 70' lift off hood sixpack car with steelies as if Chrysler carried it on one more year. Anyone seen one done before and if so, how do you think it looked?

Sounds Like a good idea at first. But when someone builds a clone of a car that never existed then it just looks like a hotrod. And sometimes looks pretty bad. 1969 super bird, 65 Barracuda wing car, Challenger T/A convertible, 1969 and older cars painted limelight and plum crazy, Plymouth with a bumble bee stripe, etc.

No offense to those that built/own these morphed cars.

It's your car.. Sounds like a great idea.. If I had the Money, my Charger would be a 1970 Charger R/T with Bentley GT comfort.. Real Leather and Wood Interior..

Not a bad idea. I believe you can still buy a fiberglass '70 hood with the '69 A-12 scoop on it....I think I saw it online somewhere recently. Maybe you could put on an air grabber hood instead? Your car, your choice

It's a factory TX9 black car. So I am thinking back to black. With organisol lift off hood with the red six pack lettering. Black steelies and red line tires with red interior.

That’d probably look great!!

I would go with the 1969 flat black hood paint with 1970 440+6 hood callouts.
I would also use the whitewalls that the 1970 cars used.

Is that primer? That looks super bad *** with that and the black rims. Nice!
Yes it was in primer when I bought it and sold it. It was an original TX9, White bucket seat, 383 4sp with AC. I had an air grabber for it and was going to go with dog dish caps. I liked the look of the 15x7s with chrome lugs, so I never put the caps on them.
