Have a question for the experts.
If I have a 1973 440 car that has a no vin warranty block .would mopar find a block before the build date of the car or would it be dated after the build date.
Example car was built 11 /9/1972. Making it a 73 car. Say engine went bad in may of 73. Would mopar find a date coded block from 1972 or would they use what was new at the time of the failure.

They don’t care about a date! Think about it. Their obligation under warranty is to make your car run again.

Your block is junk so they either have one in stock in the parts department from years past, or they order one and they would get what they get as fast as a date.

*** sorry I answered, I’m no expert.***

The dealer had NO concern about date coding. They were concerned about customer & brand loyalty.

Kinda what I was thinking to. It was kinda a surprise when I went to check vin # and it was blank.

Does it look like this ID pad look like it has been tampered with?

Looks like a pad that was never stamped to me.
