Blizzard, no power

Someone just posted this video. We are actually at Monument Pass which is another 1500 feet above Colorado Springs and 2500 feet above Denver. Visibility is increasing as you can see. I looked outside and we have a 30-foot beautiful pine tree ripped out of the ground and laying on its side. Heard a highway patrol officer was struck and killed on I-25. It's bad here.

Glad to hear from you.

It was a Volvo.

A Volvo lost control and ran into Corporal Daniel Groves, 52. Corporal Groves, a veteran of nearly 12 years for the State Patrol, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Just coming back from the Airport (DIA) at 6:00 AM, and the wind is blowing the snow so bad I could hardly see a car length in front if me. Going fairly slow, maybe 25 MPH with the hazard lights on, stranded car (in the middle of the road) appeared right in front of me! Quickly swerved, and then corrected, and missed the car by maybe a foot! (to the truck bed side.) And, lucky we didn't loose control and slide off the road too as the road we were on (Jewell Westbound by Buckleys' runway just off E-470) was littered with cars. My wife was a bit shaken, and said "Awesome driving"! The complement was nice, but given there was dark and almost no visibility with the blowing snow, I should have been going slower.

I'm just east of Denver, had 65-75mph winds with 8-10 inches of snow. Spent all day today on the tractor digging out. Huge drifts in 5-6ft range, even had snow blow past the seal in my garage, with snow all over the cars and work bench.

We dug out today also. Wasn't too bad just a couple of feet. This is Colorado, everyone has at least one 4WD vehicle.

Interesting, up north here in the banana belt, Fort Fun, we had up to 6 inches, with only 1 foot drifts, sun came out today, streets are almost completely clear as about half the snow already melted!
