This was a long term, extremely high dollar restoration that I have owned since 1996. The friend I bought it from owned it for the 15 years prior.

Due to some medical issues and a few other things, I just can't find the time to enjoy the car anymore. It hasn't let my heated warehouse in 3.5 years. With the complete restoration taking nearly 17 years, I have really only put about 300 miles on since the restoration was complete. I have restored old Mopars for 45 years until my health stopped me. This restoration was professionally completed about 6 years ago.

I took it to two car shows and won trophies at both. The first show won FACTORY MUSCLE CAR Class. At the second show, I won Best of Show, so this is a proven show winner. Basically everything is new on this car; engine, transmission, rear end, and complete suspension. Because the car is black, you can look at it and see how straight the body is.

I personally know that you could never duplicate this car in this day and age for less than $60,000. And even then, it may be impossible to find all the NOS parts that are on this car. I have put a lot of thought into this and I will sell it for the closest offer to $45,000. You will also get all the extras that go with it.

Restoring my 1965 Plymouth Satellite is finally “finished” after seventeen years. The restoration has truly been a labor of love over this very long time for me, despite health issues and having thirty-four surgeries during that time period.

In fact, I started calling my Plymouth “Widow Maker” because I was not sure that I would ever get the restoration finished before I went belly up for good. However, my oldest daughter married about the best paint and body guy you could ever find and together we finally got around to finishing this Mopar at his personal shop at their house.

I restored this Plymouth as a tribute to a good friend who drag raced it for about 15 years in the B Factory Experimental class before I purchased the Mopar from him. Sadly, he passed away from stomach cancer two months before the Plymouth was completed and he never got to see the finished product of all our hard work. He would have been especially tickled when he looked at the rear side windows where I had the original drag strip decals they used to give out reproduced for the six tracks that he used to run on, along with the official NHRA Decal. The glass also has the white Drag Race Class and Time Decals for the best time this car ever turned at a track. However that was with a whole lot stouter big block than I have in the car and that version also had an automatic race-built transmission at that time with a Trans Brake and 4.56 rear gears and slicks.

I guess the Plymouth would be classified now as a “day two restoration,” something like was done all of the time back in the day to personalize your car to your own tastes right after bringing it home from the dealership. The Plymouth now has a 500 plus horsepower 426 wedge engine with dual 625 CFM Carter four barrels, a full max wedge factory header exhaust with side dumps, a 4-speed transmission and a 3.91 SureGrip rear end. The carburetors are topped off with the old football-shaped Mopar dual quad air cleaners that have been chromed and the hood sports the HEMI hood scoop added to accommodate the air cleaners.

The Mopar has an original AM-FM radio with the rear seat speaker. The Satellite features new traction bars, adjustable pinion snubber, frame connectors, original style reproduction battery, hidden electronic ignition, new old Stewart Warner gauges and console tachometer. The entire drive train has been rebuilt as well. The Plymouth has BF Goodrich tires front and back, 235x60R15 fronts and 275x60R15 rears, mounted on original Keystone Classic’s — 7 inch fronts and 8 inch rears.

There are enough NOS parts on this Plymouth now to break Fort Knox, but I also have an original 1965 dated 426 Street Wedge engine, original glove box door, original shifter knob, original 14 inch wheels with NEW 215x75R14 inch whitewall bias ply tires, original dual exhaust and the original spinner wheel covers to put this thing back to completely original condition if someone wants to do that in the future.

THE HURST SHIFTER IS CORRECT FOR A SATELLITE (CONSOLE) IN 1965, AND A SPORT FURY IN 1964. BUT THE HANDLE IS NOT. IT WOULD HAVE-BEEN A WHITE HURST SHIFTER BALL, W/4-SPEED PATTERN...
1964, & 1965 DODGE, & PLYMOUTH B-BODY CARS "WITHOUT" CONSOLES, WOULD HAVE A DIFFERENT SHIFT HANDLE, THAT CAME OUT OT THE FLOOR. THE "OFFSET" HURST SHIFTER, WAS DUE TO THE CONSOLE (FIBERGLASS EXTENSION, DRIVER'S SIDE), TO ACCOMMODATE LINKAGE. ONLY THE 4-SPEED CONSOLES HAD THIS. NOT THE TORQUEFLITE CABLE SHIFTED CONSOLE CARS...

I just always preferred the Hurst "T" handles on all of my 4 speed cars. I do have a new correct white one that will go with the car, along with a lot of other items.

Hello----Sure the VIN # is R451126067 and the car will come with 2 engines. The hopped up one with all of the goodies that is in the car now has A 426 stamped into the ID. Pad which translates to a 1965 year 426 Street Wedge. However it is not a 426 engine and I purchased the block at a multi make swap meet assuming it was 1965 426 street wedge block and main caps. I bought this block because my friend that I got the car from told me that when he did decide to sell it to me, I wasn't getting the race engine, transmission or the 4.56 rear end. When I sent the engine to the shop to get built for me is when I found out that it was actually a 440 engine and it needed to be bored .030 to clean it up. Not having any other engine at the time I told the builder to just get me a new set of pistons and build it anyway, so it would be ready to drop into the car as soon as I ended up with it. Well my friend found a 1964 Belvedere 2 door post car that he was building into his next race car and he was tubbing that one out to be able to get a lot more tire under it, which was the limiting factor on his 1965 Satellite being able to go any faster because it was never tubbed out. When he had that 1964 Belvedere all ready to go he called and told me to come and get the 1965 Satellite he had promised to sell me a long time in the past. When I got down there to pick it up he also gave me the original 1965 A 426 block and main caps and that was a very pleasant surprise. I had mistakenly assumed he had used that for the build on his race motor and there was never any mention that he still had the original block and I never asked about it. So I do have the original 426 block and then I bought a complete 413 engine to use all of the parts except the pistons to rebuild the original 426 Street Wedge motor and I also have a brand new set of 426 pistons for the rebuild. All of this stuff will go with the car, along with 4 brand new bias ply whitewall tires, the original 14" steel wheels, the very nice original spinner wheel covers, a nice car cover and some other stuff too. Heck I'll even offer the buyer 1st chance at my 22 foot enclosed car hauler trailer with both the regular entry door and also the much bigger curb side door for getting out of the car once you drive it into the trailer and it has all of the tie down straps and " D " rings in the floor of the trailer. I hope this information puts a little more light on this fabulous car and whoever ends up with it will certainly not be disappointed with it. I only took it to 2 shows and won the Factory Muscle Car Class at one show and won the Best of Show at the other one. Also it would be impossible to find all of the NOS parts that are on this car in today's market. Take Care and feel free to ask any other questions you want to about this car, I'm not trying to hide anything from anyone, Charlie.

It looks as if you are running 2 fours inline? Did you aquire a cross ram intake? For either motor?

Hello----Yes the car has the inline dual quads on an CH8 Edelbrock high rise aluminum intake with the old Mopar late 50's and early 60's dual quad air cleaners that have been chromed. For the other original 426 motor that goes with the car I have the original 426 single 4 barrel manifold, the correct rebuilt Carter AFB, the chrome valve covers, the big round chrome air cleaner and exhaust manifolds to use when rebuilding it using most of the parts from the complete 413 motor that comes with the car to whoever purchases it. I also have a new set of 426 Street Wedge pistons that will go with the car. Take Care, charlie.
