There is foam underneath. which probably made things worse.
I'm no upholstery man, but I wonder if the headliner material might have worked better if it was glued to a backing such as a layer of thin felt to fatten it up a little, before he started cutting it up and trying to work those edges where it puckered. They should have been finished with a thin strip over the entire edge all the way around anyway, I do believe. HTH, Lefty71
He used to do good work, now furniture is piled higher and higher in his shop every week, he is falling way behind, and is quality of work is no longer acceptable--in other words, he has lost it for some reason.
At least he could have told me the headliner material was too stretchy to work well on small items.
