Where are you guy's putting you're line lock switch?
I have a Column Shift and not sure where it should go?
My first place would be on the end of my gear selector. Not sure how to do that..

THANKS!!

do you have a stock wheel. maybe a switch on or in a whole on the wheel.

The original hurst roll control (line lock) came with a micro switch that was secured to a manual shifter with a large rubber band. The same can be used on your column shifter.
I have a roadrunner with a reverse pattern manual valve body that I use with my column shifter, but that car doesn't use a line lock.
On my 62, I use an electric travel trailer brake (don't tell anybody, I don't think it's nhra legal) with a switch on the back of the shifter. This location only works in my application because of the way the trailer brake functions.
On my 'tina, the line lock switch is built into the shifter handle of the turbo action shifter. Lots of people have transbrake buttons on the steering wheel, but mine is on the top of the trans tunnel (non stock, tunnel higher than normal) so when I let go of the brake my hand goes TO the steering wheel instead of away.
On my opel, I put a switch in the pistol grip handle for the line lock.
Do you shift manually while in, or pulling out of the water box? If so, it needs to be on your column shifter. Maybe rubber band mount, with the wires concealed under chrome tape on the back side of the handle.
If you're not shifting manually, you can put the switch anywhere you want.

Factory wheel and dash.

I have never been on a drag strip in my life, building a street/strip machine out of a 68 RR. Its the family car so can't go crazy.
Getting a reverse manual 727, so I will be shifting.
Not going to use the rubber band that I got with the LL. Does it NEED to be on the shifter or can it be on the wheel?
Maybe I can find a donor steering wheel for it so I can save my original.

I am no expert, but I do drag race. It sort of depends on how you want to use the line lock & if you really need one (honestly). You can just put any "momentary on" switch on your steering wheels....no holes drilled, no modification to the steering wheel, easily removable.

Also, just an fyi since you said you've never drag raced....you ONLY do those long burnouts that you see on TV is you have SLICKS. You do not do a burnout with street tires.

Somehow a button on the steering wheel doesn't seem feasible. How ya gonna turn the wheel with a wire hooked to it?

Most use a coiled cord (like a telephone handset cord) wrapped a couple times around the steering column, then hooked to the switch on the wheel.
That idea didn't appeal to me, mine are on the floor shifter or the trans tunnel.

Doh! I didn't notice what sub-forum it was in.

I was in a street car frame of mind, lol.

I have my LL button on my Cheetah Shifter as well.

You don't need to use a momentary switch like the one they give you in the kit. Any on/off switch will do. You can mount it anywhere you want. They make switch covers you can use on the switch also.Just make sure that it doesn't get turned on while you are driving accidentally.

I have my line lock button on the column shifter with a reverse manual valve body. I have recently added the tbrake button next to it.

I used a switch that I added to a handheld momentary contact handgrip and it’s located under the driver’s seat. I pull it out and use it in my left hand.

Another member suggested putting a 3 way switch on the horn wire. Set one way it activates the horn, and set the other way, the horn button on the steering wheel activates the line lock.

DPDT switch and you can use the horn button to control either the horn or the line lock. My Volare uses the cruise control set button.

Now using the Horn Button is something I didn't think of... clever. Hmmm..

Clean interior 65Hemi..

Used this setup MANY years. Aluminum bracket screwed to the tunnel. Or ??

You could use a relay powered by your brake lights with momentary switch to close relay wired so it will hold until you lift your foot off brake petal that you only press enough to turn lights on

My 63 Plymouth still has the push button trans so mine is on the turn signal lever.
