Power windows connections 71-74 and/or other

I'm piecing together parts for a power window conversion on my RL21 fixed window satellite.

I have the rear windows, rear power regulators, front regulators and a box of switches and switch parts.

1- Do I need the factory relay or can I use a modern relay from the auto parts store?

2- I've noticed the connectors on the back of the switches tend to get brittle and crumble.
I'm also missing some of the brass female ends that snap on the posts on the switches.
Is there a name for those? They are very odd. They are not the same a s a bullet connector.

3- ...and finally (I think), I have a very good, possibly NOS 4 gang switch from a 78-ish car.

The rockers feel great and the chrome is perfect. I see the pins are in a different formation, but I don't care. The rockers are the same as the 75 and up (convex). Can I swap my loose 71-74 rockers (concave) onto the mechanisms?

I'm no expert but I was trouble shooting my own window switches and wiring a few months ago and ran into some good tidbits:

1. There are no factory installed relays for these. It was encouraged to install my own relay in order to free up the switches from the intense load and prevent premature failure. There's a thread in here about a guy that fabricated his own power window relays set up but I can't remember the exact search term I used to find the thread.

2. The back of my window switch was in such a bad shape the previous owner just super glued the entire backing. It also had the pins from the connectors protruding and making contact with the door. I fabbed myself a little backing insulator out of shop towels and electrical tape to prevent further chafing. Sorry I don't know the exact name of those connector leads.

3. I'm not sure, I didn't have to crack into the switch faces so I don't know if they're patterned in any particular sort of way.

I was thinking about relays anyway.

great source for those oddball 90 degree wire terminals as well.

Now if I could find how to swap the switch buttons inside the switch...

There is a factory relay. I have had a few NOS ones. Here is a pic and some info on models that had them...

You sir are 100% correct! I was thinking about people adding individual window relays in addition to the stock safety relay https://board.moparts.org/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php/topics/142362/1.html
