Hi guys, wondering if anyone can help me. I have a 67 Satellite with a 440, running the cast intake and just put on a street demon carb because my thermoquad cracked.. had to put a 3/4" square bore to spread bore adapter plate in, and now my dual snorkel breather is too tall for the hood to close, the thermoquad and street demon are the same height.. I reallllllly don't want to give up the dual snorkel, took me too long to track down and I like it too much. The only drop plates I can find are in 14".. searched for 3 nights now on the internet machine, about to give up. Anyone have any ideas? I assume I have to run the adapter plate right? Seems like the flow will be affected too much without it, but didn't try it. Thanks for any help guys! Very much appreciated!
And at this point, I'm even open to an intake swap..

I would get an different intake.
But an Edelbrock RPM will be too tall.
The regular performer should work well.

I would get an different intake.
I'm just starting to read up on intakes again, a couple years ago I almost went to a Eddy performer, but never did, I'm not opposed but can't find good measurements, don't suppose anyone is running the same setup that can give me the green light?? Thanks again

Why a 3/4" spacer? Certainly you can get buy with one thinner than that. The one I hogged out for the Bee to adapt my 750 holley to the stock manifold is only 3/8" thick... maybe it was a 1/2" but no more.

I would try it without the adapter. The carb is drilled with both patterns, and you have nothing to lose, by trying.

My brother has a 67 Satellite, 440, performer intake with a dual snorkel air cleaner.
It fits.

Not exactly certain they are the same as a 440, but I bet it is close. On a 383/400 block, a standard Performer intake is .56" taller than the stock 4 barrel one.
