I have located what appears to be a 65-66 Dart 273 4-speed, bucket seat console car. I'm leaning toward a 66, but all I have is the pictures I'm showing here. Need to know what value you people would put on it. I have made an offer but I may be seriously low. He says it will run and drive but remember I haven't actually saw the car in person.

I'm no expert on these but it looks like a good car if there isn't any major rust. Worth saving and for the right price I'd take it on.

Would this be a GT being V8 and four speed? I had a '63 years ago and with just the /6 you couldn't keep the tires quite. Cool car!

It is a GT, as far as I can tell. There may be some badges missing. What I can tell from the engine photo is it's a 273 Hi-Po. They say it's mostly unmolested, except for an electronic ignition addition. The original ignition goes with the car. When I get there I expect to see a dual point hopefully.

cool car but not a high dollar car. It is complete that is important because no aftermarket parts are available for this model, restored a convert years ago. you can buy a restored one for 15k so you should only pay a maximum of $1500. My thoughts

those darts are love them or leave them in that gen.
id offer 2 grand tops,even if it runs,its a 273 car.
some of the Trim shown missing can be a pita.
one of our guys has a 273 gt 4 speed barracuda, and its a looker but,
theres not much performance there and it doesnt get the love the others do.

while you are there, grab the torino!!

That's a 1966 dodge dart gt, after spending a year on craigslist looking for that exact car I would say that's a 1500 to 3 grand car but some guys might want 4 to 5 as a result of it being a 273 4-speed and it looks pretty rust free..

That's a 66. I bought a new 65 GT 273 hipo 4-speed. Look at the exhaust system....IF it hasn't been messed with it'll have a resonator AND a muffler with the oblong tailpipe tip that would have been chrome. Couldn't find any 13" slicks, so I had the US Royal tire dealer recap me some. Cool little car, drove the **** out of it, drag raced it and the only thing that ever happened to it was a blown intake gasket, covered by the famous 5yr./50,000 mile warranty!:lol:

Even if he paid you $1,000.00 to take it away, by the time you're done, you'll end up having far more into it than it would ever be worth.

What did you offer and what is the seller asking?
He wouldn't price the car, he just wanted an offer. I gave him a range in value of $1500-$2500 all based on how much there is that needs done other than the obvious that I can see from the pictures. I know the demand is going to be low. It may be worth more in parts than that special person wanting that particular car. I have looked at what is available out there right now and my figuring comes up to 15-18K if done right. The pluses in my opinion is the Hi-Po, 4-speed, buckets and console, plus its resale red. The minuses being availability of any parts needed, how much needs to be rebuilt, and red is the most expensive paint out there these days. He indicated that it's been parked since 1984. He didn't say don't bother to come so that might be a plus as to price. I really don't want another project right now, but I can't help myself. It's in my blood or possibly a deficiency in my brain.

Thx! I really don’t like dealing with sellers that can’t put a price on their stuff. Makes it very difficult to deal or not insult them. I don’t think your offer is that bad. If the car sat since 84 it’s going to need all systems completely gone through. You can almost bet on getting radiator re-cored $500. Assuming your doing all the work yourself it may get costly (relative) to get it back on the road especially if the engine needs gone through. I really like getting cars back to life like what you have there. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don’t. I always try to figure out why it got parked too.

Also is this something you found and want or was the car ‘advertised’? Does the person really want to sell or are you pushing it? The R/T I bought was me pushing for it, it wasn’t for sale. When you push you pay more IMO.

No, I didn't go looking for this one. The information came to me via my brother. I think a friend of my brother works with the guy and it was mentioned in a conversation they had. I wouldn't push to buy this one. 62-66 A bodies are not my thing and and I don't even look at Mopars prior to 61. I have one if you look at my garage on the forum, but it was my Grandfather's last new car. The only reason I expressed any interest was it's a rare combo and seems to be mostly there. He says it runs and drives, but I am yet to see that.
