Anyone have experience with Shopline from PPG in this color? What kind of coverage are you getting reduced 1 to 1?

I've used plenty of shipping but I can't comment on that color in particular. What i can tell you is I find I'm usually spraying one more coat to get a good hide. So if your doing 2-3 with DCC you'll probably need 3-4 with shopline. It's decent stuff, I really like some of the primers like JP202. I dont know the cost difference from SL to DCC, it may not be much if you have to spray an extra coat.

^^^ This has also been my experience with Shopline base coat, more coats to cover.

I'm using PPG on my current project, not GY3 though. The Shopline in more than 1/2 the cost of DCC. I am using 2 coats of the cheaper stuff and then one of the good stuff on the bottom of the car as well as under the hood and decklid. My color has metallic so the 2 don't match perfectly. I have heard solid colors like yours are really close.

Ill look into that. I don't mind going kinda cheap on color. Ill spend money on good clear. thnx

I have never mixed shopline base 1 to1. Its too thin. I use shopline plus or tecbase.

You don't want to go cheap on the color. Nothing worse than getting some clear laid out and you can see transparency in the color. Clears are where you can save money but if this is gonna be a driver make sure to ask if the clear has UV inhibitors in it. Some of the cheap clears they take out a lot of that.

Good coverage with Nason's.

The only potential issue I had was it's kind easy to be too far away and have it dry and get chalky. Easy to adapt, though.

There are some areas under my hood that only got one coat and you can't tell.

I did end up sanding and respraying one are that got chalky.

was super easy to blend. Was my first time blending!

Single stage, though- Full-Cryl II

Nason is a dupont and i think the place he's getting paint is ppg so that's not a compatible option for his clears or primers.

I have been using "PPG" products for the last two years in my shop for my bases. I have used Shopline,Shopline Plus, and PPG DBC lines. Solid colors I use Shopline. Cheaper and covers good because I tint my sealers and primers. Shopline Plus for any Metallics. I used the DBC line for any of these new paint codes. Long story short. Use the shop line plus at least.
