I have seen several photos of GTXs with the factory steel trim all the way down the side. That seems consistent. I’ve also seen several with a smaller metallic/steel strip under it running parallel, some with a red (black or white may have been on a few too) pinstripe under it, and some have nothing. What options are factory correct?

It’s possible the one I thought was metallic was just reflective white.

All 69 GTX models had the 1/4" pinstripe below the lower body side moldings. Only color options were reflective white or reflective red.

Does the stainless molding ride right on the the top of that body line or is there a gap? I can’t find good photos nor dimensions.

I can help with a pic... the day I put the stripes on.

No they ALL did not have the pinstripes.......code V68 delete longitudinal stripe......

My GTX was coded V68.....it also didn’t get the hood treatment either....

Most think they all did because the majority came with the stripe. The stripe looks great IMHO.

Does anyone know how far above the body line the holes for the trim should be (body line to center of the hole)? It seems to vary when I look at photos, but I don't think the edge of the trim sits right on the body line (or does it?).

Here is a pic from the Hemi GTX survivor that has been profiled in a few magazines and websites. I went out and looked at mine also. The stainless strip is right above the body line, so just before it starts to roll inward. But it varies panel to panel. You can see the shadow on the door jam in this pic, near the quarter

Here is my front drivers fender. Original fender. Seems to match the survivor GTX in the pic, though the part in front of the wheel seems just a tad higher, so not sure what their tolerance was

Here is a 69 I installed the chrome on. Maybe it will help. Whoever installed the arch chrome was way off I had to take it off and rotate it forward to meet the front chrome piece.

The stripe is part of the GTX package. You had to special order to get one without it. Or pull it off when you get it home. LOL.
So as I stated not all that rolled out of the factory had them placed......

That’s my point......you’re not incorrect for the initial order but not correct when you say ALL came out of the factory with it.......colors like black where a dealer exception when it came to stripes and treatments and they ordered the cars they saw fit that would sell appropriately.......

Also there was a blue pinstripe offered as well just an FYI not just white and red

Please tell us more about the black and blue stripes. Never seen, or heard of any color available except for red and white. Was this dealer installed?

It was factory installed, it is very rare to see one and most were on black cars imagine that......I have info in my home computer so have to post that later.....
