I quit.....

Nice, keep it going. I am coming up on two years, and before you know it, you will hit 1 year!

A friend of mine and his wife each smoke 3 packs a day. Hes on disability and is always complaining that they are behind on their mortgage and cant pay their property taxes. Hes always trying to borrow money from people and has filed for bankruptsy twice. At $7 a pack for 6 packs, thats $42 a day, and for 30 days in a month, thats $1260 each month. He asked me once if he could borrow some money and I told him to quit smoking and he would have more than enough. We're still friends and he never asked me again.

Doesn't everything taste and smell better now? How does it feel to have some extra kick in your step, more endurance to climb the second or even third flight of stairs without a second thought? It's gotta be about 8 years now for me.
 
Sense of smell is so much better, but honestly, haven't noticed a big difference in how foods taste.
 
Congrats! 30 years for me. Yup you can all say it's nasty and filthy but compared to someone spitting chew in a bottle smoking is not all that bad

Those inconsiderate ******** leave their spit cups 1/2 full wherever they want and not care. I seen enough of that **** in the A.F.! At least they don't smell like buttheads!

Jan 5 2019 was 7 years for me and wife .
So I thought. About two years Ago my stepson was riding to work with her every day. One day I took her car to the store. Was easier to get out of parking space at the time. When I got in it smelled like smoke so I searched the car and found a pack in glove box. When I got back home asked her about them she said they was left in the car by her son. Kool no problem ! Well fast forward to last month she was standing there talking to me and I smelled it again. I asked her if she been smoking and she replied hell no . No problem ! Well last week used her car again and sure enough smelled like smoke again. Searched car again and another pack stuffed in front seat rear pocket. Her son hasn't been in car for a year. When asked she replied again them are my sons he forgot them. I looked at her and said bullshit they have date on bottom . Well she fessed up. Apparently she has been smoking for awhile. For some like me it was easy I smoked for 30 some odd years and quit cold Turkey. And she had the patch and the gum and still didn't quit and was hiding it all these years. Always wondered why she kept mints and body spray in her car. Felt terrible that she had been lying to me.for so long.
 
Congrats on kicking the smokes, 18 yrs for me on my 2nd time round.
 
Did you get an Ozone generator to defunkify your house and cars?

My Aunt recently gave me her and her husband's old food processor (Uncle David smokes like a chimney in Iceland). It wreaked of cigarette/cigar smoke so bad I chunked it in the trash. Before anyone says I should have decontaminated it, it was too old to even care about.

I didn't smoke in my house, and the one daily driver car I did smoke in, was sold, and I didn't ever smoke in the others, well, I did in my Roadrunner back in the day, but its been fully restored, so there's no chance in hell I would have smoked in it again!
 
They say the way to quit is to quit. When you start up again, don't beat yourself up, don't worry about it. Then quit again. When you start up again, don't call yourself names, don't worry about it.
They say keep quitting knowing you may start again, but don't give up on quitting, and eventually it will take.
