i haven’t been on here for a while. I just got back from Jamaica, Panama, Columbia, and Costa Rica. My heart goes out to those people that live in such condition. If you think you have it rough in the USA try to survive there. Oh what comforts we have here.

All those places look beautiful in the pictures lol. In Jamaica, the crime is so high that any one who can afford to leave, does so...... It seems every decent Reggae artist has either left or been killed in a botched robbery, save for Bob Marley and Augustus Pablo, who both managed to die young from other causes.... So clearly the "if you have, I will take" mentality reigns supreme.

I remain in the USA, because I know how blessed I am to call this home.

We are blessed , although I'm not in USA after being to those places and seeing how some people live with dirt floors no electricity , medical etc I say all of us in North America have it pretty good .
Being a Canadian I'm happy to boarder the States and have always felt welcome , safe and enjoyed my time while travelling .
Our countries have some tough areas but nothing like those other places .

Not kidding here at all. I thank God every day I was born in this country as opposed to anywhere
else - and especially the period of time I grew up in and the part of country my family is from.

I love everything and everyone I've been exposed to about Canada, other than the weather.

Weathers not to bad , if your born here winter can be fun .
Hockey , skiing , sledding , camping in the winter is all good .

Heck it's sunny today .

We are all lucky. I am descended from immigrants. Bet most of you are too.
Now you see why other people want to come here, legal or not.
Who wants to live in a **** hole ??

It is certainly not difficult to understand WHY people from Central and South America want to come to the USA. It just blows me away that these countries in THIS day and age with all of the examples to look at,that NONE of them have progressed to somewhere near the levels of modernization and development materially like all the countries( well the USA anyway) they want to immigrate to and drag down because that is all they know.

I went on a cruise several years ago with the family & one of the spots that the cruise ship stopped at was Labadee, Haiti. When I questioned it, he said that this beach area is owned by the cruise lines and he described it as Haiti without the Haitians. Anyway, our excursion was taking a ride on one of those high powered cigarette boats with multiple rows of seating. We went a couple miles from the good beach and drove past another beach that was covered with tin roof shacks and we also passed by small fishing boats with bedsheet-like sails & you know that these people were simply catching their daily sustenance. It just felt strange to me that here were were coming off of this huge luxury cruise ship and speeding by them in an expensive speed boat while these people are living in tin roof shacks and fishing for their daily food.

You all are right God is blessing America but yet we do not want to play buy his rule , just receive the benefits.Think about that.We want God to bless us and only help us when we are in trouble even after trying to eliminate him from society.Sorry but God is forever and we should not forget that and the people who died and serve for those very same freedoms.God is great!

After tours of the Middle East and seeing first hand the overwhelming majority living still in the 7th century I appreciate my home. It occurs to me that most of the "Shithole" places are much, much older than the USA. Perhaps we should take special note of that and try not to join their club in the near future....

The best place was the Cayman Islands. Very clean and more like the USA. I was astonished when they said the fine for littering was 6 grand or two years in jail. 45% of income goes to the government but free health care and schooling.

The Cayman Islands is probably the exception and the reason is money they have due to their industry. As far as most of the Caribbean the words are illegal drugs. A co worker of mine is from Trinidad, he told me growing up there was great. Now its high crime and the question is why, the answer is obvious.

Yes, most of us are descendants of immigrants - who entered the country LEGALLY.
It's never a question as to most honorable people from other places wanting to come here - we understand why just fine.
Problem is, lots of not so honorable people are wanting to come as well, for not so desirable reasons.
The integrity of the nation and its' citizens must be protected.
To do otherwise (as is happening now, in shocking numbers) is to put us all at risks we shouldn't be.

Nothing is "free", hence the 45%. :)
