Hello!

I'm searching for a windshield rubber gasket for my 1970 Plymouth Satellite Sport wagon.

If you have an idea where to get it from without spending a fortune let me know!

Thanks + regards from Austria _ Andreas

I am not a wagon expert, but I do know that hardtop/coupe windshields & gaskets are one size & convertibles windshields are a little bit taller (and the same as 66/67 b-body, like a Charger or Coronet). I would guess your seal is one of those two.

FYI, that should be the same rubber as on a 4 door b-body. Good luck with your search.

I got one off ebay and it wasn't too expensive.

4D and wagon 66-70.

I bought mine a few years back at the hats in Columbus. I think the vendor was Metro Super Soft.

You will be needing a Precision WCRD 672 gasket or a Steele 70-1778-50. This gasket fits the 66 to 67 B-Body 2 and 4 door sedan models as well as the 66 to 70 B-Body wagon windshield. Both gaskets retail in the $215 to $250 range, just depending your vendor of choice. For that particular application, I have sold the Steele gasket as I am thinking that Precision is actually selling the Steele piece.

I have a nice used one, soft ,
Came off a 69 charger, $60
Shipping might be $45
Good day mate

Charger won't work

69bfan Anything available for this application?

Corey, your only choice is the Steele 70-1778-50 which is the Precision WCRD 672. Thus the rather expensive price. Clesters has one available which I have never sold and is in the $90 range. They make a variety of pieces which can vary significantly from the OE pieces. It may work fine, but I personally would not want to have to redo a windshield replacement and possibly damage a windshield that is not as common as the hardtop variety.

Thanks a lot for your replies!

I've already found an item that fits on Dante's Mopar parts. But it's in the $ 200,- and up range. Resulting in an $ 400,- -investment once it has been shipped and I paid all the import-fees.

I think I'd rather choose the cheaper alternative. I wrote them an e-mail to find out whether they offer a gasket and how much it would be shipped.

big THX + regards _ Andreas

Do you happen to know of anyone that will be attending the Carlisle or The Nats show who might pickup the gasket and bring it back to you.

In regards to the cheaper alternative that your looking into, is it a molded gasket or bulk extrusion? The reason that I ask is that on almost ever form of weatherstripping, whether it be a door seal or windshield gasket, they utilize molded corners which are basically impossible to do with a bulk extrusion. It can be done if the radius is not tight, but in case of the windshield gaskets, your looking at four 90 degree corners which will pose a problem. Good luck.

The Carlisle nationals are a good guess - I 've followed the show on the internet for years, but I can't think of someone who goes there.

I understand what you write about the process of making these gaskets and that there must be difference in quality when the range is from $ 75,- a piece to up to 300% more.

The thing is that I want the car to make it through a rainshower every now and then, but I don't plan on taking the car out as a daily driver. So the cheaper alternative will do the job! (In my mind I'm being prepared to face other problems which need financial attention due to the fact that the last time it was on the road was in 1986!).

Thanks + regards _ Andreas
