Getting my engine delivered tomorrow, need it swapped out. My local garage is always too busy stopped and talked to them yesterday and they said they would get me in by the end of April? I don't understand how you run a garage like this? I need someone close that could do this for me..........

They are probably Saying that because an engine swap can be a bit finicky and time consuming and they make more money by banging out brakes and suspension type work. They might be saying that to just sorta discourage you from using them.
If I was near you I’d consider it. Good luck

When you say engine swap, does that mean say a 440 out and a 440 in? Or 318 out and 440 in Big difference, much more of a project.

440 six pack engine swap, have an engine in my car with a messed up crank......no matter when you talk to some mechanics they want to put you off for months. The owner said he would get me in by the end of April, so I just hope he holds to that and not after waiting 30 days he says another couple weeks..just a local garage with 2 mechanics and the owner helps out when he can. Just wanted to get my car on the road without the oil leakage and before summer is here......plus after already waiting and getting the car back with the messed up crank I can't wait to get it pulled out and replaced.

Are there any retail performance shops in your area that can refer you to a shop that does performance work? That's usually how I find them. Or even local car show organizers would know.

A couple good mechanics should be able to do it in 8 hours. I had and oil leak on my Hemi Satellite ( my screw up) Pulled the engine fixed gallery plug leak. Then put it back in and running in 8 hours, by myself. True I knew where every nut and bolt was but no air tools either. Can't do it anymore to old for that s*#t.

I'm sure if you said free beer and offered a nights lodging some PA boys would show up at your house...

It’s getting harder and harder to find mechanics that’ll do that type of work. Like what was previously said they make money on the routine stuff.

your are 4 hours away if you were closer i would help you
