G'day all,

New member in Alice Springs in the middle of Australia.

I have a 1967 4 door Dodge Coronet 440 which I'm in the process of doing up. It's in a million bits, and the only photos I have for it are of it pulled apart, so probly not much use posting them.

Obviously as this car wasn't released in Oz, I can't buy parts of the shelf here for it. Just after some advise on the best place to buy parts (ie. steering / brake components, ball joints those sorts of things) who will ship to Oz. Also, as it is 4 wheel drum brakes, I'd like to convert at least the front to discs. Can you point me in the direction of someone reliable who does disc brake conversions.

Sorry if this stuff is covered somewhere else on this forum. I'm happy to be directed to the appropriate threads.

Thanks in advance
Matt

There are at least two shipping companies that catch things in the US and combine them in shipping containers going to Japan. They may go to AU also. With the weight of suspension and other parts you mentioned, and the fact that shipping via USPS to AU, though cheaper than Fedex or UPS, is higher than any other country in the World, that would be something to look into.
Besides Mopars, I mess with LBC's. What I do is get a catalog from Victoria British and go through it page by page putting together a wish list. Once you are confident of what you have and what you need, you can find suppliers (many are on the right hand side of the page I'm looking at right now).
If you don't have a Shop Manual and Parts Catalog, those are the first things to buy.

Welcome aboard, sounds like good advice above.

hello and just take it one day at a time, sometimes you have to walk away. Cant wait to see some pics.

Mate,
the shipping cost is horrendous these days so try to use one supplier for as much as possible as they can package it up and it won't hurt as much. There seems to be 2 main players for brakes. Dr Diff gets good reviews here. I used PST for all my suspension and front disc conversion too - I had no complaints. I think PST might carry more suspension parts than Dr Diff. Check the exchange rate too and try to time it when it's at it's best - it can make quite a difference. Also there's a few companies over here that sell stuff competitively - not so much for suspension and brakes but definitely engine parts - Outlaw Speed Shop and EMA spring to mind. Good luck.

Welcome Matt!
