'70 Roadrunner rally dash car. All of a sudden yesterday my gages (oil/gas/water) + turn signals stopped working. Today they worked again, then stopped working again.

I'm thinking it's maybe a ground issue or power supply issue....maybe a switch issue. Anyone have an idea where I should look first for the problem? THANKS FOR THE HELP!

the cluster grounds itself to the dash frame. You could run a ground wire just to see if that fixes it.

There is a multi-pole connector on the back.....worth testing the pins for strength and security to the panel.

This sounds like a real easy thing to try...and makes sense.

I know the pins you're talking about. I will wiggle that plug in tighter (very gently). The panel is new with the digital-type voltage limiter installed, so the pins should be OK, but I will check. Would that somehow affect the turn signals? I mean, it's not the lights in the dash, they're actually not flashing on the car. Gages & turn signals either all work or none work, so it's seems like one problem making two things not work. Does the power for the gauges run through the turn signal switch in the column???

related question:
I have a non rally dash
if I run a ground from the cluster to the dash frame, where should I connect to the cluster? I'm assuming that I wouldn't want the circuit board connected directly to the dash frame....right?

one off the screws that gos to cluster.

I dont think that would affect the turn signals

Without consulting a drawing, I am sure that the turn signals and brake lights feed from the pedal or flasher unit. Power for the gauges comes from the harness which is supplied by the fuse box.

Purplebeeper what did you find out? I'm having same issues. Almost certain it's a ground issue.

Well, I still think it's a ground issue....worked for 2 weeks, then went out again this weekend.
