The majority of the ones that I work are 2 stroke, so its a gas oil mix. Most of the newer outboards are 4 stroke and have and oil tank/plan and have a pressurized system.

Most older outboard boat engines were 2 strokes meaning the fuel/oil mixure is circulated throughout the crankcase and cylinder so no other oil is needed.

Todays distraction, pop sign refurbishment that I picked up this morning. Hope to finish it tomorrow, with a new ballast and bulb, then back on to my car interior.

Picked this up today needs some repairs a rear leg replaced and reupholstered should match my sittings room set nicely! Now I have everything I need to get the upholstery for the two sofas and the arm chair to make everything match !

How old is the sign? Looks like a 1980 ish ballast and it's been replaced before.

No idea, I'm still trying to figure out why you gave me a RED X !!

Ballast is for two lights, so doesn't light properly with just one. Unit has a receptacle that I guess the cooler unit lamp plugged into. Swapped it out for a single I had from some old lights.

I don't see why it matters how old it is! It's cool ! It's a side project ! Red x was uncalled for !

Can you convert it to LED tubes? Would be easier starting and you could alter the colour with the tubes.

I could do a lot of things Roger... I have a car to finish!!! LOL I had the ballast in a mess of old lights that I have in the rafters, along with a full box of bulbs, cost = zero. Turns on as soon as I hit the switch..
