Anyone know if this tranny would bolt right up to 69 RR, with 383?

looks like a chevy bolt pattern. it's an overdrive tranny. I think GM used them but can't say exactly on what.

Yea I agree with lewtot......definitely looks like it has the Chevy ears on the trans to bellhousing bolt pattern.

"Supposedly ".....it came out of 55 Ford 100, I'm trying to find out what motor it had...

Not sure what that one is out of, to be honest.
For your 383 Runner, you'd need to find a 23 spline A833 similar to this one.
Although this one is for '70-up (note the additional rear shifter mount), otherwise this is the critter
you need. Note the rear mount, front mounting ears and where the speedo output is as opposed to
the one you show:

Understood....but that does not look like an OD, which is why I was researching the one in my pic.....
Thank you

If one shift lever is up, and one is down it is definitely an overdrive type 833...I have seen them in a few old suburbans and chevy pickups

Not sure if you know this....and you might so not harm meant, but the OD chrysler trans uses the same exact case and tail shaft as moparedtn posted (4 speed A833 case/tail) except different internals. Bigger front bearing retainer and flipped shift lever are signs of the differences. Wasn't sure if you were thinking the OD unit was totally different or just trying to see what the one you have came out of. No biggie if you know that, just tryin to help. That trans in your pic will not bolt up to any mopar bellhousing from the 60's/70's muscle car. My 78 PowerWagon has a similar bolt pattern, but taller and that would be a 4wd truck bellhousing so that wouldn't fit your application either. Not the same pattern either, but closest thing to Mopar and that bolt pattern I have seen. That is a Chevy type pattern used on the Muncie 4 speed as well. See below.

Thanks! Appreciate that....its in a local ad, and was hoping for an overdrive that would fit RR to alleviate some if the highway "screamin"!

You can find them around from mid seventies and up 2wd pickups and cars. They will have the bigger front bearing retainer, and the 3-4 shift lever will be flipped and pointing down as opposed to a true 4 speed where both shift levers point up. Theres other ways to spot them, but those two are a start. Make sure its the long tail shaft version too if you are sticking it in your Roadrunner.
