Thanks happy to be here

Welcome to the forum, all kinds of info here.
Good luck with your situation

Yea not sure why they did that ill probably disconnect electric pump and see what happens
Probably for starting hot or for priming after a long period of time sitting. Gas evaporates, leaves the carb dry and you have to crank the crap out of it. Just what some having this problem are doing.

Yep and I'm considering the same (with a small little fella inline) - but they don't run them both ALL the time, do they?

What I hear is the electric is just for priming.
Yup. What we've discussed. I may still do it when I need a little project one weekend. :)
Still sorting out the "new" 18 spline, clutch, etc. right now...

welcome to FBBO from NorCal Sierras

standard points? or electronic added?

Tim, hopefully by now you have made some progress. If the engine ran fine when you received the car, what changed? Anyway, happy to have you join the FBBO crowd. From the Pacific Northwest, a hardy Welcome! :welcome:

Welcome from the show me state!!

Howdy from Oregon. IMO no need for 2 pumps, ditch the electric and put a Carter street pump on it and check the FP push rod for wear. Lots of threads on the rod wearing. Sounds like someone was crutching a problem.
