what other non car projects are you working on?

Ya I know... ball of black tar inside the housing from where the OE leaking out! .. but we've all survived!

Ok think I got the x removed.

I was a maintenance guy in a newspaper building. Changed a lot ballasts over the years.

Spouse started building us a retirement home and then a few years ago the project came to a halt. I'm going to start cleaning up the mess inside the empty shell of a home and fix the cracks in the cement, then seal and paint the floor and plaster walls. Very tired of the constant rain of concrete dust. I need to make it at least half usable--don't really need doors and windows with the nice climate.

Thanks.. any idea on a date for that ballast I showed close up?
I had a closer look at that ballast, and it states on the label... "No PCB's" ....I guess it is more like '90's era.
Hard to tell though, as half the voltage is missing. :poke::D

Had a guy come over yesterday to price a Mitsubishi Ductless A/C and Heater. That will cost a few bucks.

Not the greatest project but I needed a t molding to go across my kitchen to TV room I needed 120" I'd have to put together 3 store bought ones to make it and not sure if I was ok with 2 splits ! So I decided to make my own and I can make it match the rest of the wood in my home of course the tile and wood were diff levels so that was fun ! But I just finished it today and I did the torch the wood and stain then clear I think it looks good

Wife was tired of oak cabinets so she wanted them white to brighten the kitchen .. A LOT of doors (27) to remove, sand, prime, paint ,rehang. New hardware and hinges also. Getting rid of florescent lights in the soffit and putting LED recessed lights in. New faucet on it's way also. Dinning room floor getting hardwood as soon as weather breaks so I can cut flooring outside. That's it for the house this year, ........... I hope

My poor cars haven't got much attention over the past couple years...

Over the winter I managed to get a lot of tools and parts sorted and stored in the basement of the new garage...
Then I started messing around modifying Hot wheels cars and just tinkering around in the new garage basement since it was easy to heat...
Now with spring I have a large laundry list of things I can be working on...
Past couple weeks I have been cleaning up the yard and removing a hateful moss infestation in the grass
I spent 12 HRs this w/e pressure washing all of the concrete walls and pavers...Then onto the wood walls and both decks along with the garage deck so I can get stain on everything at one time...
I have more of them to build where they head towards the garage but the ground is just too wet...
Cleaned out the storm water management pond and finished the stone wall at the top edge of it...pulled all the weeds and put new mulch in...
Installed stone around the base of one of the tree's in the backyard in about a 6' circle and then mulched the center...One down only about 4 more to go...but the ground needs to dry up some first...
Started mixing up top soil and sand and leveling low spots in the yard and reseeding everything with fertilizer...Then it rains and I have to wait till everything dries up a little to get back into it...
Tried to start staining a little tonight but the wind was too strong...
Eventually the witch is going to want to start on new flowers so I'll have about 150 plants to put in and then mulch everything...
Luckily the cars may only need a little gas to be good to go...Maybe by July I"ll get to drive one...:cursin:
Nah...by then maybe I'll be able to work on finishing the inside of the garage...:BangHead:

Got that t molding done and layed ,reinstalled the foot bar ! I need to finish up the Landry room door and molding then I can glue the t molding down (if I put it down now my luck it will need to be trimmed)

Decided to start a new venture and I am building industrial/steam punk style lamps with a theme, and the first in my series is water in green glass. Not sure of the source of the glass used for the shades, but its old. I found it while hunting for some other stuff. I will be doing water in red glass next. The lamp is made with all solid brass/red brass on iron pipe with modern electrical sockets, antique style dimmer/switch, and LED bulbs. This one took about 20 hours to design and build.
