Losing parts....am I the only one!!?

All kidding aside. I had/have chronic Lyme's Disease. It did me in as far as my short term memory. I can walk somewhere to do or get something and with-in a minute forget why I went there or what I needed to do. I have to stop and really think and sometimes I still can't remember… When working with others it's embarrassing...

I have done that for years and no known disease to blame it on.
Same here!!

Tried looking for it but am not following. What you trying to get at here?
CRS....it's something that you acquire especially when you get older.....it's full name is Can't Remember Sheeet! :D

I sometimes think , I`D LOSE MY *** IF IT WASN`T HOOKED ON !
Wait , it fell off about 15 yrs ago !
Now I know why black people call us "CRACKER !" ---lol

Losing parts, losing tools, & losing (misplacing) several other things. Fortunately, just about everything turns up eventually.

But finding the lost item a few years later is not good.
If I could find time to just clear the work bench and build a cage to retain all the stuff that sprouts legs.
Have always been attimate about putting tools back regardless if project is done or not. The walk off factor when working around other people.

Unlike some of the old fossils here, I am but a whippersnapper and my CRS isn't that bad.

Yet.
**** RC, I'll bet you have a T-Shirt older than I am.

Trust me, I am very meticulous in my shop. Part of the fun for me is calling it quits around 4:00, crack a beer and put tools away and clean the shop. It's when 2:00 rolls around and tools are spread to hell and gone is where I have problems.

A couple of weeks ago I had my hands on a jar of ant powder. A few days ago, the Spring ants invaded the house and I looked everywhere but could not find the stuff. Today, I remembered I had handled the ant powder when I visited our ecological cabin 40 miles out of town. Got mixd up in my mind where I had seen it.

Part I
I was gifted some first class sunglasses (Maui Jims?) by a relative, so they had some sentimental value as well. When I finally decided I would need them again, I looked high and low, and I mean everywhere, but never located them.

Part II
One afternoon I was driving down a windy mountain road a little too fast when I rounded a curve and something bumped into one of my feet on the floorboard--my long-lost sunglasses had come sliding out from underneath the seat! I guess one day I had put them there out of the direct sunlight or to hide them from thieves (or both) and forgot about them. What a relief, it was a joyous afternoon after that.

Guys like me have a tendency to set stuff down while I am thinking of something else....THEN I have to backtrack to find what I set down.
Also...how about the times you have bought stuff and once you have got back home, you realize that you already had 2 or 3 of them?

And all this time I thought it was me! Whew! Some things are never seen again. This never happened when I was in my prime...long, long ago! Dave
