Hello all,

I recently looked under my 72 roadrunner and saw by the inspection plate trans fluid coming out of it and all over the trans pan. I replaced the neutral safety switch as well as what connects the speedo cable. Wondering what I should do next

Pull the flywheel inspection cover and see what's wet in there if it is. Torque converter seal might be leaking. Is the fluid red or reddish?

Clean and degrease, really well and then keep a close eye on it. There are many possible leaks on the drivers side just above the pan rail. Ther are other places as well, such as the dipstick tube, or the pan gasket etc.

the fluid is reddish, its leaking by the cover, I will pull the inspection plate off some time this weekend and let you know

thank you

I had a big trans leak and it turned out to be the shift shaft seal. From there, leak spreads all over the place. Makes it look like a pan leak.

If you do the shift shaft seal don't forget to do the kickdown shaft seal also. I didn't will have to pull the transmission again.
