Hey guys my carb is not going to clear the hood. One concept I have is to cut an opening for the carb and use an air grabber scoop in a fixed position. It barely rains here in AZ but thats one flaw I am not sure how to work around. Any ideas on that are welcomed!

In order for me to understand fitment I need a measurement of the stock air grabber opening in the hood. Can someone do this for me who has an air grabber please?
Thanks MF

How much clearance do you need? You don't still have the flat Satellite hood do you?

Is the carb going to hit or just the air cleaner assembly?
You could look into a drop base air cleaner if it's close.

Yup stock flat hood. High rise manifold and a 3/4 in spacer for vacuum port. No clearance interference. Drop base not going to help.

I understand your idea, but that is going to be tricky with the wrong hood & nothing to attach the air grabber scoop to. I can get you some measurements if you like, but it's roughly 12" wide by 10" deep (or thereabouts). You would have to cut up an aftermarket airgrabber scoop & fiberglass it to a hole in your hood & fyi the scoop is centered, but the engine is not. You will also have a tough time modifying your air cleaner to clear the off-center hole. You might want to consider a fiberglass lift-off hood with a '69-style scoop in it if your heart is set on that tall intake/carb/spacer combination you have now.

Thanks PB the information you have supplied is good enough for now and for me to contemplate. I am not in a hurry as I can run with the hood off while I continue to work on other higher priorities.

Or a Super Stock scoop. Like I have on my Duster. It's period correct and is not terribly difficult to implement.
