Hi, working on the interior of restoring my '68 Coronet R/T convertible. Looking for guidance on how water drains from the boot/liner that the convertible top collapses down into. I have new 2 short rubber tubes through bungs which seem to match holes in the shelf behind the back seat but no corresponding holes in the liner or guidance how and where to install? How is this done? Appreciate any advice, thanks Ron

I have a 67 'vert. I'm not sure if the design is the same, but from the best I can see, the well liner is not meant to be a drain, just a catch pan.

Mine has a trough that is under the rear and side tack strips. I believe that any water that would get past the outer skin of the top would caught by this trough and run down the front of the wheel wells where there are removable drain plugs to let out any accumulation.

This is just my observation, I could be wrong.

Jim is basically correct. You should not be getting any water into the boot/well liner. Those troughs he describes collect all the water that gets past the top/body seams. The water flows forward (both sides) & just basically dumps on top of the inner wheel wells & directed downwards into the quarter panel where there are two holes (each side) that lets the water drain out. The boot/well liner should stay 100% dry.

Thank you both for your feedback, I understand what you are saying and will study more closely how the water would flow out. It was just that I have these two drain hoses, new, labelled B Body and looking how/where to fit them? They must be for another vehicle. I have read other posts about water getting into the well liner when top down and creating a drain for those situations (which should seldom happen anyway?)
