Wife said it was time for a new mower. So I did some searching and talking to people. I ended up buying a Ferris. Three of the neighbors have them and my brother has had his for four years. Took it for a spin tonight and man does it ride nice independent front suspension and a premium seat.

Picked up a John Deere lx173 48” deck (free) new starter, 2 rear tires and a tune up and it runs great. Need to level the deck then time to test her out

What model? I’ve had an IS500 for almost ten years. 44”. Other than maintenance and blades it’s only needed a belt twice and a battery. I leave it on a trickle charger. It’s been a dang good mower. I almost bought a scag but I’m glad I went Ferris for the money.

Old faithful. Still set up for winter mode.
Will switch it to summer mode this weekend. 54 inch cut. 26 HP.
My son said the "JEGS" stickers add at least 20 HP.

I had a Hustler mini Z 44" cut. I found another mini Z this winter a couple of years newer with about 300 less hours. It's a 52" cut and a great mower. Already cut grass a half dozen times and it performs great.

I have a Ferris IS600, bought it for the suspension, but it's so bouncy on my land I can only mow with it for about 45 minutes before I get nauseous. So I do most of my mowing with my 4 wheeler pulling a Swisher trail mower. Other than that, it's a nice mower.

I think you guys are over my league, but I had a Sears Craftsman w/ 10 HP Briggs motor and 42" deck for 29 years. Sorry, no pic as it's pushin up the daisies!

My Lawnboy was sorta Sublime green ... .. .

Just saying ... .. .

I had to get a Kubota BX 2630 with a 60"deck to get the job done where I live now. It's $$$, but a good match for the job and it seems like its gonna last forever. Also, like mowing with a Cadillac compared to anything I had previous.

Here is “the old girl” she lives at the lake house. Cuts two acres of hilly turf. What a reliable old tank!!!!

Cool, I graduated from Ferris State back in 1971!
On the other hand, I mow with a 41" Husqvarna Rider 14 Pro that I purchased in 2000. Best mower I have ever owned.

I have 2 both old.One is a John Deer 155 48" and a Toro 5500 50" time cutter I have been mowing about 5 acres but this year I am letting a friend bail the pasture so I will only mow about 3/4 acre now. This will be nice I have changed the blade spindles and pulleys on both but I run stuff until it has been used up.

4 years ago I bought
Gravely HD 60" deck zero turn
24 HP Kawasaki Power.
Does a great job, aside from always having a low tire no matter how many plugs I put in it.

35 yrs and still going strong !!View attachment 755437
I looked at a JD 318 then found my Gravely 8163B with the BS 16 hp single cylinder 531cc thumper. It was around 89 when I bought it used and still going strong but it does need the reverse clutch replaced....and Gravely parts ain't cheap anymore.
