hello just wondering if anyone is running a edelbrock performer rpm intake on a low deck B block with the stock hood? If so any clearance issues?

I run this intake on my Super Bee with the power bulge hood. Barely fits so I just ordered the drop base for the unsilnced air cleaner from Mancini.

My RB has a 64 stock hood and RPM intake. It is close, even with the drop 3" filter but fits. I used playdough to check clearance.

here's a few pics when I was mocking it up with a stock filter and then a cheap eddy, with the eddy carb on a 3/8" phenolic spacer. A low deck should be no problem. I have a Holley carb on it now, no spacer and could run a 3.5" or maybe a 4" filter.

65 Belvedere, 383 block, Edelbrock heads, Performer RPM intake, Edelbrock 800, Moroso drop base air cleaner. Plenty of clearance.

Thanks everyone. I was thinking it was going to be close.

I have that intake on my 64 with 383. Close but it fits. I added a 1” carb spacer and that was too much. Later cut a hole for the hood scoop but it worked without the spacer.

Thanks Steve. Hope to see your car this summer at some point!

I run the Indy dual plane which seems to be as tall as the RPM and I run a 440 raised block. It just has room to fit under the hood. I use a stock Max Wedge scoop but they dip in the middle and don't give much if any more room in the center. You should be fine with a low block using the RPM intake. Ron

You can see the stock scoop does not add much room where it dips in the middle. My carb stud is about 1/2" from the center of my scoop. Ron

We've run the Performer RPM on RB in a 65 with an air filter and no scoop.

64 Polara. Drop base. 3 1/2” filter. With the 4” filter the bolt hits the hood. Previous owner thought this was fine
