Best torqueflite-727 to 1000hp?

I've seen a few pictures like that. That's why I went the direction I did. Nothing's bullet-proof....but I'm stepping up.
 
Joel's has closed but he still builds out of his home garage I have heard.
 
From what I hear....Joel's is really slow and hard to get ahold of. May be good stuff, but I need it in this lifetime, and communication is key to all my business deals. A few years back, I couldn't get ahold of him.
I had a 727 "on order" from Joel for 7 months never got it and only got excuses why he could not get it done. Had to go else where.
 
I build my own for the most part. But John Cope has good parts & I would trust him to build a good 727. Sure never thought a TH400 was superior to a 727, but been a long time since I looked in one of those. 727 with a billet drum & good sprag should work at 1000 HP. Oh, 727's are bunch simpler to work on than a TH400.
 
I build my own as well. Run 900hp thru them with no issue. I have plenty of friends that race S/S. They get them from Joel with no issue.
