69 Road Runner race car, engine in stock position with motor mounts., 727, PPP shifter, TTI headers.
Trans blankets not working out very well. We're thinking about going to a hard shield of some sort but one that fits without having to cut the floorboard or firewall. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

From what I read about the CSR's, the pinch weld, firewall to floor needs to be pounded flat for clearance. It also said that the ears for the column shifter on the tranny needs removed.I know my neighbor put one in a A body and had to trim a few places on the shield to get a better fit.

You are correct on both of these mods.
The shield won’t work/fit without these mods.
Fits fine in my 67 Coronet with the mods- otherwise it’s back to a blanket.

Yeah, with tech guys you never know. Awhile back I traveled the U.S. drag racing my 12 second car. Only once the car was rejected with a fuel line issue that they wanted me to shield it near the bell housing area. A drill,a piece of sheet metal and 2 screws and all was good. I'm sure they check closer with the fast cars. But again some didn't check anything.

Special thanks to actionange1-
