Rules are rules, if you break them, you get penalized. The safety of the jockeys is paramount. It could've been a disaster. Anyone who knows horse racing will tell you they did the absolute correct decision.
 
Sports have what is called risk. The nascar boys play bumper cars. Guess their Safety isn’t number one. Remove all risk and nobody will watch.

Sports also have rules to mitigate risk and they have penalties for violating said rules.
 
I'm not sure how intentional it was if it was at all, (how much control can you really have riding on a 1,000 lb animal on a sloppy, muddy track?), but blocking in a Nascar race is done all the time. It's racing Francis!

Yeah bullshit. Next race, they need 3 horse entries for each competitor. One horse for the Lawyer, and one Comfort horse.
 
One way to do it then for the cry babies is race one horse at a time... I watched the race and did not feel it was intentional as what happened happens right at the start of EVERY race. With mud flying everywhere it could have had been an issue as to why he drifted or it could have been the horses intuition when sliding to stay up right after all they are animals. I was raised around driving horses as where i worked we had 9 Hackney Clydesdales that we showed and did combined driving they are unpredictable. It was Extremely sloppy conditions and it was impressive all horses/jockeys made it to the finish. I don't bet so it doesn't effect me but the fact is the fastest horse DID not win. So it wasn't really a "race" more than it was who was the horse that was fast enough to finish 2nd....

At 1:29 into the race when you can clearly see the horse head is turned towards the inside of the track. The jockey is "pulling" the rein on the left but the horse is drifting to the right or outside. It was clearly not intentional but that animals instinct as the horse probably felt the footing going away. It happens when riding and driving horses I know... Also look at all the contact and blocking at the beginning of the race. The slowest horse should have won as he did not impede anyone!! LMAO. The fastest horse did not win which is what the race is supposed to be. Again I could not care less just the way I see it. Maybe they should give participation trophies too...

Now there is a claim that another horse started a chain reaction before the controversy.
Races from now on will suffer from this pc madness. There will be challenges frequently.
Sport, animals, sloppy track, come on. Should have never happened. Winner got robbed.
