Man, new cars are fast!

By not adding the lower character line, like the original Challengers had, it makes the car look very slab sided below the center body line. If they had added that lower line, they would have broken up that wide flat area of the car. It doesn't show up in the photo of my Challenger, but I created that lower body line with a fine pinstripe in almost the same color metallic blue pinstripe tape. In certain lighting it is visable. If I were to ever repaint the car,I would bodywork the lower character line into the car. If you were to expand the photo of my car that I posted at the cemetery, you can pick up the pinstripe on the lower area of the drivers side door.

On the new challengers I always called the Q panels "blank" and with the lower packages wheel/ tire combo it really stands out.
To me it kinda looks like they tried to combine the cuda and challenger Q panels together.....but that's just me.

I think that new muscle car and old school muscle cars can cohabit just fine together. Our 09 Challenger R / T classic is going to be 10 years old this year. They have come along way in 10 years. I hope to sell off a couple of project cars and buy a slightly used Hellcat Challenger within the next year. I did a few tweaks to my wife's Challenger to add some old school flavor to it. I added 70 Challenger R / T grille script emblems, and reconfigured the headlights to 70 configuration, added 71 style side scoops, because they go with the stripes, and help take some of the thickness out of that area of the car. I added the pentastar on the lower right fender, and scat pack decals on the quarter windows, some quad exhaust tips finish out the back. I got rid of the ram center caps and nose badge, and went with the ones from the Mopar 10 Challenger, and added chrome trim to the front and rear to mimic a 70 Challenger, as well as chrome trim around the taillights like a 70. I white lettered the tires too. It gives the car an old school look. The 370 hp 5.7 runns like a good 440 did back in the day. Like what you have done to th 09. I too was looking at used Hellcats, but my shop and others have some horror stories about Hellcats that were no properly broken in / handled when new.
Oil consumption, smoke, etc. READ THE BREAKIN PROCEDURE FOR A HELLCAT. Under 55 for 100 miles, then something else and no real exercising for 500 miles. Go on youtube and watch. Very few maybe some here do the right thing. No used Cat for me. Meantime, I put a Blower on the 09 which is paid off. Hellcat will wait and come off the truck with zero miles. New.

I agree with the "slab sided" so I broke it up with a full vinyl top and Rallye strobe stripes.
