Getting my dick Landy built 383 after 6,000 miles looking at 600 horsepower hope I get it

Let me know if you get the 600 HP. Also let me know if its going to be streetable and if you are putting it in a 4-speed or automatic car. I know technology has improved, but the best I could do in 1970 with my 67 HP 383 was a little over 550hp and only behind a 4-speed.

It's a 4-speed and going to have all race products in it I'll let you know on the HP rating and torque
Wasn't very streetable for me with 500 I can just imagine 600

I used mine on the street and strip thru 1972. With 3:23 gears and stock height tires it sort of surged or rode cam at 60-65 in 4th gear. 70 and above it was great. At the strip with 4:10 gears on 30 inch tall slicks my best time was a 10.92 at 127 mph. Crossing the line at 7500 rpm.

They broke it in for 6,000 miles before they gave it to you? Or am I missing out on some spelling and punctuation?

Sorry I've blown it up after 6,000 miles hitting something on the highway knocking out my radiator and overheated

Tell us more about this 383.....what's inside it?

Heads, cam ECT. What ever you want to spill I know everyone here want to know the recipe

Not trying to be a 'negative nancy', but.... Get with your engine builder tell him what you plan on doing with it and what your goals are. You'll be a lot more efficient and successful than trying to build it by committee on the internet where you're just going to get a thousand different opinions...
