I am currently running a 400 block stroker in my 69 Roadrunner. I am considering installing a Gen2 Hemi. Not sure what I would need to install one. Is the K-member the same? Engine mounts? Flywheel?

I have a big block lakewood scattershield. Can I resuse the bellhousing?

Any info on the 426 crate hemi's? I know they recently stopped making them.

I'm sure you checked that the front bearing retain was center to crank on the 400. Needs to be done on hemi mine was off, needed offset dowels. Schumacher Creative Services for engine mounts. The Hemi engine $$$$$.

You can re-use the lakewood bellhousing and block plate but recheck and correct center as required. The hemis are all 8 bolt cranks so unless you’re using one in your stroker, you’ll need to buy one. The k-member and mounts are completely different. Try the MegaParts repop units. I’ve used them in the past. I have a new set of motor mounts if you’re interested. TTI is the only way to go for headers but your Lakewood bellhousing flange and block plate will need trimming. As for crate engines, there’s not much out there anymore. I’d find a block and a builder you trust and build it so you know what you have.

Save your money! If that does not help then you need to find a good block the newer the better. Stay away from 50 year old junk. Buy a world Casting from Bill Mitchell or from Indy or any authorized supplier. Rockers are Stage V, Heads are Mopar or Stage V. Crank is Kellogg style which is eagle or manely or any of the better suppliers. Isky cams, roller lifters. Stay away from crate motors since you have no idea who made them..

Throttle cable length difference, automatic trans dipstick tube is hemi specific, kickdown linkage is different, a factory wedge starter won't fit a mega-block either. If using schumacher mounts with a wedge k-frame & TTI headers, you need to trim the driver's side mount, per schumacher's instructions.

Your whole driveline needs to be up to the task too. After I Hemi swapped my road runner, a few hard launches bent my leaf springs.

Think everyone else covered most everything. A HemI specific oil dipstick and tube will be needed. Hemi motor mounts and K frame are needed if not using a Schumacher conversion kit. Also, if running power steering you will need a special 90 degree fitting. Oh, and be expecting the lack of room everywhere. Good thing plugs are in from the top.

If you decide to move ahead with it, before you spend a penny on anything else........ locate and purchase a block.

Right now, that seems to be the hardest thing to get.

Thank you everyone for the great information. I am sure they are not cheap to build but you got to love that elephant under any Mopar hood. This gives me a good starting point and what I need to start looking for. Thank you
