Yesterday my daughter was standing with a girl that handles the finances at her vet clinic. Her friend received a call that her brother had been shot at the Highlands Ranch, Colorado STEM school. He was shot in the back. He survived. It broke a rib, punctured a lung and exited his stomach. He is in the hospital in stable but serious condition. Just heard he will be in the ICU for 5 more days. He is set to graduate this spring.
 
Hope he makes a good recovery. I was reading were that young student how he scarified his own life when he went after one of the shooters.
I have family in Denver, she is a teacher. My mom in law called as soon as she heard what happened. For those few seconds you get real nervous until you know your loved ones are safe
 
My thoughts and prayers for the boy and the family during their time of hardship
 
So sad. Sending prayers and best wishes his way for a speedy and thorough recovery.
 
Praying as hard as I can for everyone!!! I wish this would all just stop. We had so little to worry about when we were young, it's not fair, they're just kids for God sakes.

Prayers for all family's. what a shame to treat life as it was nothing. The parents need to be held accountable also
 
Saying a prayer for this young man. And massive respect and sorrow for the courageous young man who sacrificed his own life to take out one of the worthless POS shooters and save his friends.
 
Prayers for the young hero, he took the fight to them. Well done.
 
Always have to pinch myself every time a similar tragedy hits the news--it's so hard to believe this happens. We need a new word to describe these kids as "gunman" does not seem to fit at all (they are not "men" at all). Don't know what would be a more correct name for these crazy people.
 
With the hero's outlook on people, he is now with the Lord. Our prayers are with the injured that he was instrumental in saving. Two tragedies within 10 years is tough to swallow. May everyone involved make a full recovery. SteveSS, I'm sure your daughter was a comfort to her friend in her time of need. At times like that everyone needs a shoulder to lean on.
 
Life was so much simpler when we grew up. The crap that goes on these days is sickening. How many school shootings happened in the 70’s?
 
Pray for all of their physical and mental well being after such trauma. It's so sad the violence they see and grow up with.
