Hi,

I am going to be using a new set of Superformance oil pan gaskets with a windage tray.

The motor was assembled with Permetex Right Stuff. I had a hard time removing the leaky oil pan. That stuff is like cement.

What does everyone recommend. Right stuff or ultra black on the gaskets? I just want to run a small bead for insurance. I am using a new oil pan and windage tray.

I would contact the Superformance tech line and hear it from them. I'm going to replace my leaky oil pan gaskets too and will probably do the same.

The Superformance oil pan gaskets will have an instruction sheet with them...a light smear of BLACK rtv on both sides of both gaskets. The key to a good pan seal is flat rails, flat tray, and don't overtighten those bolts. And the surfaces need to be completely cleaned of any oils, dirt, etc...

I just talked to Greg @ superformance last week and he said a small amount of your favorite sealer at the timing cover and rear seal cap, and that is all.

No need to coat the whole thing. Just a damn mess then.

Call him and ask, Greg is a super helpful person.

Hey, That is my name.
Thanks for the kind words.

For a couple extra dollars his gaskets are the best I've used(that goes for the accessory gaskets too) I chickened out on the newer one-piece tray/gasket setup after reading too many bad reviews..
