just slapped mink oil on for the weekend. 5 days of running in sand, mud and whatever else.

I just ordered 2 pairs of Tecovas, black lizard. I have a wide foot and ordered their wide which is EE. Ordered my size and a half size bigger (free shipping and returns). Neither one was wide enough. They were way too narrow in the toe box, cause of the pointy toe. Sent em both back. They make beautiful looking boots but not in 4E !!!:(

Go to sheplers and look for wide squares.

I had a pair of Nakonas in the 90s that were the best fitting boot I ever had. The next pair of Nakonas were post sale and weren’t as good.

My go to dress boots are a pair of Dan Post caiman and Dan Post ostrich leg. Both fit nicely. I have a couple of other pairs just to kick around in.

Dan Post here as well.....Mine are square toed and alligator......

Absolutely love them...

Have worn them for over 50 years. Round, square or pointed toes. All kinds of heals. All are fine but they have to fit. I can relate to the EE and wider. Having narrow feet they are just as hard to find. Imagine being in a boot store with over 10000 pairs and only finding 5 the right size.

The best I had is Luccese. But with the bone spurs and gouty in both feet..... :(

I have seven pair, six are Ariat, one is Dan Post. From left to right, Ariat Crosswire, black and brown, Ariat Phoenix legends, black, Dan Post Beige Smooth quill Ostrich, Ariat Relentless Gold Buckle caiman, Ariat bar Sour Distressed, Ariat Ramblers Distressed in the garage for working. I have owned many more by other boot makers ,but, Ariats are the best out of the box for comfort, no break in required.

I've been wearing my Airiat for years. I guess I've been through every boot brand there is since I was a kid. I even had a pair of elephant hides in the 90's. I don't know how they managed to sell those but they were tougher than bull hide. My son doesn't wear anything but cowboy boots. Even with shorts. My daughter and her husband do too. It was kind of a fun thing at their wedding. All the men wore cowboy boots. I'm thinking about getting a pair custom made. They aren't that much more expensive.

The cowboy boot is all about function, same as his hat. The pointed toes slip into the stirrups easy. The taller heel locks it in the stirrup. The undercut heel makes it possible to slip off your spurs. I was surprised to hear most don't know you always get on a horse from the left.

Sorry to drone on but I just watched two John Wayne movies. The Sons of Katie Elder and Hondo.

You can still get elephant! What they do now is , boot makers get a chance at the hides of elephants that die of either natural causes or elephants that must be culled to protect their habitats from overpopulation. If you have boots from years ago before the ban on elephants, you're OK also.
I bet the wedding was fun, boots are very misunderstood and can cost thousands. I enjoy wearing them.

Love to wear mine and have for many years. Extremely comfortable. Got a brown pair too...

My newest pair (far right are tony lama). I have two pairs of Dan Post and the far left pair I’ve worn the name off. I’ve had them and the darkest pair for 15 years. Just had new heels put on. The middle pair I got married in two years ago and I work in them. I wasn’t real happy about the rubber sole at first, but I love them now especially when it’s wet. They are Ariats. They were literally the only pair of 15 not square toe in the entire store. So I bought them and glad I did now. Most of my boots were less than 200 or so. My oldest two pair cost over 500 a pair. I will resole them until they can’t be worn anymore.

Double H. American made and as comfortable as running shoes.

I had a pair of elephant skins 30+ years ago before I got married. Loved them. They got a little tight on me ( guess the home cooking of marriage and gaining some lbs made my foot get wider) so I didn't wear them for about 10+ years. I looked for them one day thinking maybe I could have them stretched and couldn't find them. I asked the wife where they were. " Oh, I donated them cause you stopped wearing them." :cursin::cursin::cursin: I went ballistic. Needless to say, she doesn't get rid of my stuff anymore without asking.

I had 3 different brands of cowboy boots in the 1980s. Two were name brands and went into the trash after several years. The third brand was from Adams Boot Company in Houston, Tx (I think Houston) that I bought in 1980. They are the best fitting and comfortable footwear that I have ever owned. I need to take them to Crazy Jack (he is! ...from the fumes) in Savannah for heel repair. Python.
