Hello All,

Relatively new member to the site here so forgive some of my inquiries. I just registered for the Carlisle show under the FBBO club affiliation. I registered in the Plymouth 71-74 Modified Class. Based on what I've read so far I'm assuming the FBBO Tent won't be too far from the B-Body showfield(s)? Also, my car is farrrr from perfect and I'm not entering in the hopes of winning anything, just figured I'd rather park close to other cars and folks like myself. I hope I'm not setting myself up to look foolish by not entering a "Concours" level Car....please feel free to give me your honest opinions as I definitely don't want to be taking a space from a more deserving entrant. My ride isn't super modified but it has more than the 4 mods they mention on the Carlisle website for entries. Either way, it's been exactly 25 years since my last trip to Chryslers at Carlisle and I'm pretty excited to see all the cool cars and people. Thanks in advance for any and all input
Sorry I missed your welcome wagon post so, WELCOME TO FBBO. Wow, 25 years since you last visit to Carlisle, you will see a big difference. The newest vehicle on the Show field at that time was the 1994 models. And remember, just driving a Mopar makes you a WINNER. I like Blue.

That's my 62 Fury, they allowed me drive in and out with it Free, because My 69 SW with the HEMI pump was an invitational exhibit that was left there for the whole week. Notice the ultra rare DODGE bicycle on the roof of the 69.
I'll be bringing my 64 Savoy this year with a PLYMOUTH bicycle.
VANDAN.....did Ed get back with the count?

I sent him a message, but have not heard back.

So, I just got off the phone with Ed and we ONLY HAVE 10 actually registered.
Not even close.

Well, so much for the Poll. Perhaps some will register as they drive in, or it will be on our backs than...

Tent has a cut off date there is no signing up at the gate.

Well, whatever the count is, the Tent will be there. Many "Talk the talk", but Don't "Walk the Walk". It will still be a place to gather, meet, trade, and create the memories from The 50 Year Anniversary for 1969 Mopars, and All Others Included !

Hopefully as it gets closer and members want the early registration discount, the tally will work out before the tents deadline and the $180 fee will be returned.

If not, the ones that do register can divvy up equally to cover the cost. Last thing anyone wants is to have someone covering the whole expense on their own.

I hear you, but I don't want to make registering as a FBBO member come with a potentially negative consequence that they must help support the cost of the tent. I don't want cost to be a negative driver so I stand by my original contribution commitment. If members willingly offer to contribute and that ends up reducing the cost, that is a bonus.

I am really surprised and disappointed that there are only 10 members registered as FBBO, but it is what it is. I hope FBBO folks stop by regardless of if they ended up registering.

I'm all for the tent whatever the outcome.
The contribution box will have to be secured.........every show has undesirables lurking around.

I will contribute i

I spoke with ED about having 2 affiliations. My local Mopar club and an internet one.He told me they would not do that. That being said,my local Long Island Mopar Club missed being the largest club by a small margin so of course I registered as such.Although my time at the FBBO tent will be limited,I would be happy to throw $20 at the cost of the tent:thumbsup::drinks::usflag::canada:

I have no problem contributing $$$ to the tent and any other expenses related to the FBBO gathering. How do I go about making a contribution??

Did you tell Ed that we are definitely in for the tent and did you make it official?
Is the $180 Paid?
Lets not assume and get er done.

Here are a couple of ideas to have as meetings at the tent:
  • Lunch get together (even to get food on the grounds and then bring it to the tent)
  • Dinner get together (maybe off the grounds?)
  • "Show and tell" We have a session where we tour the grounds and look at the members' cars who show up at he tent and let them briefly tell us about their cars. Might be a fun way we can truly experience each others cars rather then just through pictures.
  • "Hang out" times to relax and chat for a bit
  • "Share a beer" sessions? (it is typically hot you know!)
  • Others?
I'm happy to consider other ideas and look forward to seeing folks!

Hawk

Post # 30 on Page 2, says a check has been sent in to Carlisle.:praying:
I hope FBBO members over donate so a responsible person can have funds for next year's (2020) tent. I'd think if the pot has leftover, the amount of the tent cost for 2020 of maybe $180.00 still, a tent could be paid for in cash (get a receipt) during the 2019 show. If in we do not get the registered quota for next year.
Instead of buying that greasy, cheesy chopped stake with onions, you'll feel better and live longer (I'm guessing), if you donate cash to the tent fund.:luvplace:
Edit; Oh no, I hope that praying smiley above won't cause this thread to get locked!

I sent the check in this past week, so I'm sure they will need to process the app, and assign the space. Hopefully it will be near the show field area designated for B-Bodies. I will pass the info on as soon as it becomes available. You could also contact Carlisle Events, to maybe pose that question to them. They usually try to accommodate all, so the Show experience is one people want to return to...

SO............I find it strange; at the least, that there has been NO input from the self appointed "deep pockets" FBBO president. (RC). No offence RC just curious?
