Got a co-worker that has his daughter getting married this Saturday, and he approached me many months ago about helping to build a wedding table, hung by ropes, for use at the wedding ceremony . . . like usual, don't know "how" to say NO . . .

So here's the progress ( and why little work is getting don on the 67 Belvedere )

First the table . . . or in this case the bases to support the frame . . .

Then the brackets to hold the 4 x 4 posts together . . .

sm_wedding02.jpg

After getting them painted, they'll look like this on the supports . . .

sm_wedding03.jpg

The frame is finished . . . now for the table ( him and his daughter actually made it )

sm_wedding04.jpg

Brackets bolted in place . . .

sm_wedding05.jpg

Figuring out how to hang the table . . .

sm_wedding06.jpg

Added the chandelier ( that's what she wanted ) and the settee is also part of the wedding too . . .

sm_wedding07.jpg

They were very happy with the results of the table and I'm happy about that . . . and of course I've got a wedding to attend on Saturday too . . .

Then, and they don't know a thing abut this yet, wanted to do something special for them . . . so here's the plan . . .

Started with making a couple hearts for them . . . ( not sure why they're sideways . . . )

sm_wedding08.jpg

The bent some metal 1/4" bar into their names . . .

sm_wedding09.jpg

And the Groom . . . .

sm_wedding10.jpg

Welded all the letters together into the hearts . . .

sm_wedding11.jpg

And finally Cerakoted them and here it is in the oven ready to be cooked . . .

sm_wedding12.jpg

As I said, they don't know about this part yet, it's a surprise for the day of the wedding
( my friend said I'm going to make her cry ( again - she cried when she saw the table for the first time )

and she's going to mess up all her makeup . . .

Next surprise . . . looked at the wedding announcement and saw

MaryJo and Garrett Bradley . . .

So Went to make the last name in out of Rebar - the wedding is in an old mill . . .

Bent the rebar to form the letters, cut them, welded them, and got it all done . . .
Co worker stopped by and I showed it to him and said - what do you think ? ?

His response - What' the hell is that ? ?

Their last name . . . Here's where the bad planning comes into place . . . Bradley is his MIDDLE name . . . Oh Gawd ! ! !

sm_wedding13.jpg

Turns out the last name is KENDALL . . . so, with BRADLEY - I still need b r A D L E y - don't need the B R Y )
and instead need a K N L . . . like this . . .

sm_wedding14.jpg

Got really lucky, and put all of the letter together . . .

sm_wedding15.jpg

Welded them up to get this . . . and she loves it . . .

sm_wedding16.jpg

and the finished name/hearts complete with the Cerakote finish
( guess I should have done a better job of mixing the colors to match them . . oh well . . .

sm_wedding17.jpg

So it's all done . . . and ready for Saturday . . . Whew . . ..

Awesome work:thumbsup:!:drinks:......you know, now you have put yourself out there for all of us to start ordering projects for you to do.........:D

Awesome work Larry:thumbsup:

Your next post better start out by saying something like INSTALLING 5.7 AND 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION IN 67 VERT!!!:poke:

Very cool projects!! I love doing stuff like that but rarely get the time to do them

The wedding was held last night and it went very well ! ! Unfortunately, rain in the area prevented an "outdoor" wedding, but the venue, when you see the pictures, was as close as you could get to "outdoor" even though it was inside . . . you'll see what I mean in a minute . . .

Got there the night before and got the table setup so the venue could set up their stuff around it . . .

sm_wedding18.jpg

After they got their stuff, tables, candles, greenery set up, it really all came together . . .

sm_wedding19.jpg

Got the electricity to the chandelier set up = this was all the brides choices and design . . .

sm_wedding20.jpg

And the venue, it was an old mill building, in the middle of nowhere, completely gutted, looked like a brand new roof, no windows . . .
I thought the place looked incredible . . . and the crew working there did an incredible job with the whole event . . .

sm_wedding21.jpg

As I said before, it was basically an "outside" with a roof over it - the rain keep the air temps cool and relatively comfortable for the whole night . . .

sm_wedding22.jpg

Later in the evening, the chandelier did a great job of hi-lighting the bride and groom

Now that this is over, I can get BACK to more time working on my Belvedere . . .

Gorgeous. Its awesome what investors are doing with the old manufacturing buildings. Our son is getting married in October and they are doing the same kind of venue, an old tool and die factory from the 1890's. Thanks for the pics

Awesome work, here I thought you were a typical ‘knuckle dragging’ Mopar guy lol! Nat’s in Aug. again?

Wow, beautiful spot for a wedding and your work fit right in with the surroundings:thumbsup:. Excellent job

Wow. Extraordinary! Yes, the mad scientist is going strong!!!

Now you need to do some stuff for yourself!

The new bride told me that the Venue has used the picture on Instagram to advertise their facilities . . . using the table that was built for this couple . . .

wonder if that's a "right"/"proper" thing to do . . . . . .
